Vehicle Detail

This listing is for a 1973 Volkswagen pop-up camper van. I purchased the van in 2004 and I do have a clear title for it. However, the tags have been expired since 2005. When I purchased the van I was able to get it running and it drove to its current location. However, it has been parked since 2006 and I do not believe anyone has tried to start it since. There is no battery in the van. I believe that there was something wrong with the transmission. I think that the problem was minor though because we did drive the van across town to where it is sitting. I can not tell you exactly what was wrong. The motor and transmission are complete. You WILL need to bring a trailer or tow rope to get this vehicle because it has been sitting and I do not know if it will start and run. I do not know the exact condition of the vehicle because it is parked in Tulsa and I am living in Kansas. However, the last time I saw the vehicle the body was in good shape and all of the glass was intact. The body is orange and the pop-up is white. The paint is faded. I do not recall there being much if any rust on the exterior of the vehicle. If there is any it is not major. The last I knew the pan was solid and rust free. It has been parked though and used as a storage shed so the condition of the pan may have changed. The doors including the sliding door on the side and the rear hatch are all operational and in good shape. The pop up works however the seals are bad and will need to be replaced. The cot in the pop-up is torn and will need to be replaced. The interior is complete. There are cushions in the rear compartment over the motor, the bench seat is still installed in the back, as is the fold down table, and small seat. The sink is still in the van however, it needs some repair. We installed shag carpet in the floor of the van. Both front seats are still installed. The fabric on the seats is brown plaid...I do not think it is original. I am needing to sell this vehicle and get it moved in a hurry. It will have to be moved from its current location no later than April 30th. If the van is still there one May 1st it will be sold as scrap metal. I will not deliver the van. It is local pick-up only. Because I do not live in Tulsa I will have to make arangements with a friend for you to look at the van. Please do not inquire unless you are serious about purchasing the vehicle. I will add pictures as soon as I receive them. We tried to get it open but it seems to be locked and it will not budge. The interior door handle is gone. The key has came up missing. I have no key!!! There is some damage to the rear corner of the vehicle on the passenger side. There is rust there. The spare tire is gone from the front. The mirrors are missing. The pan is solid I crawled under and looked this evening. I am adding pictures please ask questions before bidding. On Apr-24-11 at 22:59:10 PDT, seller added the following information: MORE INFO: Someone asked if the van was sunk into the ground....the answer is NO...we have drug it out of the place where it was sitting. :-) Plus there is plenty of room to move it onto the trailer. The guys sent more pics. I apologize if they are kind of dark they were taken with a flashlight. They do show some damage to the passenger door though :-( To the best of my knowledge the interior is complete. This is a single carb motor and the carb that is on it came off my 67 bug.
