Vehicle Detail

1970 Dodge Coronet Super Bee If you are looking for a car that will turn heads wherever you go then look no further. I have owned this Dodge for 7 years, and never got the chance to enjoy it. This is truly a Coronet 440 that was transformed into what you see in the pictures. It has the very expensive rare and hard to find power bulge hood. The engine is a nicely detailed Big Block 440 c.i. with a Performer Edelbrock High Rise aluminum intake manifold. The carburator is a Holley 750 Double Pumper. There is a nice dual snorkel air cleaner. The wipers are new but have not been hooked up. It appears to have the original numbers matching radiator, but I can't say for sure. If any Mopar enthusiasts would like me to check numbers, I will gladly do so. I believe the transmission is a 727 torqueflite. I'm an Oldsmobile guy, and never learned where to search for Mopar numbers. I believe the car was originally white, but it was painted B1 blue with the white C stripes to match the blue interior. The paint was done about 5 years ago, and still looks pretty good. It has basically been stored outside on concrete with a cover on it and never driven until I recently made the decision to part with it. In the past month I have replaced the battery, changed the oil and filter, and replaced the spark plugs, distributor cap, rotor, and added MSD 8mm high performance wires. The prior owner told me he had spent $2,300 on 3" stainless steel exhaust with headers, and dual flowmasters. This baby fires right up and sounds wicked! These Big Block Mopars are getting harder and harder to find, and this is a car that you can enjoy driving while you contour it to your personal preference. To do this car right I would suggest a restoration as the front floors could use some repair, and the trunk floor possibly replaced. There is a full size Mopar spare wheel and tire in the trunk that I had left over from a 'Cuda that I sold, but I believe it will fit on this car as well. The frame still looks in relatively nice condition. All the panels seem to be the originals except the hood, and the right rear quarter panel. A full quarter panel was replaced on the right rear before the car was painted, and a nicer bumper was changed in the rear. The chrome and trim are all in decent drivers quality condition. The interior is all original with all the seat belts still in tact including the two shoulder belts. A newer blue seat cover is on the front seat for comfort. The original seats are useable with minor imperfections, but to make the interior perfect again you might want to have the material changed. The top of the dash pad has some cracking, but the remainder of the dash is alright. They do make replacement pads very inexpensive. I purchased this car with the aftermarket racing steering wheel that is currently on the car, but I have an original blue Mopar steering wheel that will be included in this sale. The radio is missing, but I don't see any damage from where it was taken out, so the stereo will be the choice of the new owner. The original headliner could use some repair, but the carpet is brand new. The vinyl top was installed this past week, and was done in the period correct material. New Super Bee emblems were just installed on the power bulge hood, and a new bumble bee in the front. The tires are a matching set of four 215/65R15 raised white lettered B.F. Goodrich Radial T/A's on Mopar wheels painted to match the body. The rocker chrome was just replaced and is brand new. There is a Mid America Racing Winner decal on the drivers vent window that came with the car. I have no idea if this car won anything back in the day, but I left it on there and show a picture of it. I pride myself in answering every question in explicit detail with the utmost honesty. I try to list everything I can think of when I write a description, but if there is anything else I can answer, kindly ask as many questions as you like and I will answer them in a timely fashion. This Super Bee is for the guy or girl that always wanted one, but could never afford the crazy prices that they have all started to command. This is a drivers quality B-body Mopar that will continue to rise in value. This is a prime opportunity to purchase a piece of muscle car history at a nominal price. Please only bid what you are willing to spend. This auction is offered at no reserve, and will sell to the highest winning bidder at 7pm central time on Easter Sunday, so make sure to have all your bids in before dessert. Happy Easter!! Good Luck and Happy Bidding!
