Vehicle Detail

1971 Fiat 124 Spider convertible in French Blue. This is one of the nicest, most rust-free early 124's you will find. I bought this car in 2007 from an older woman who was the original owner, she bought it new in 1971, so I am the second owner. The car only has 51K original miles and has never seen road salt, being a florida car, it was always garage kept. I have not found any rust on it, as you can see from the photos and youtube videos (see links below). The car runs well and is in great shape mechanically, the 1608cc twin cam has plenty of zip and sounds great. The suspension is good, the car tracks straight and handles excellent. The paint shines nicely and there are no dents or evidence of accidents. Everything electical works (except the radio) and it's all original. I replaced the shocks, tires, brake hoses, fuel hoses and a few other maintainance items. It has Fiat Roosevelt dealer installed alloy wheels in excellent shape. Here are some videos of the car: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VsKpa2a5yjs http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bGzzczFjHJY http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S3-bIcaCSA4 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QbKaWBezllI This is not a show car, it is in excellent shape for it's age, but it is 40 years old. There are a chips and scratches in the paint. There are 2 small dings on the drivers side door and fender that probably happened while it was in the garage. The brakes work fine, and I replaced the hoses and changed the fluid, but the front calipers are dragging a bit, which is common when these cars sit. If it doesn't free itself up on it's own, it will need new brake calipers, they are about $80 for a set. That's about the only thing that would stop me from taking it on a long trip, otherwise it has no issues. The top is in OK condition, it doesn't leak, but there are a few small freyed areas where I used some sealer. It goes up and down fine and even comes with it's original top boot. It's a lot of fun to drive with the top down and listen to the twin cam engine. These cars were very advanced for their time with 4 wheel disc brakes and 5 speed transmission. Here is a video showing the history and of the features of this car: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yio0ODrSJnw Buyer is responsibe for pickup and shipping, I can assist with shipping it. A deposit of $500 is due within 48 hours of auction close. I take paypal, certified check or cash. I have a clear NJ title for it in my name. I can send additional photos as requested and am available to show to any local bidders. Reserve is reasonable and also offer Buy-it-Now. Good luck.
