Vehicle Detail
1974 SUZUKI TM 400 This low hour bike was sitting for many years with a seized piston. It did have a very large scratch in the cylinder and in order to remove it the bore went to .080. A new WISECO piston, rings, clip and needle bearings were installed. The crank was checked and found to be in tolerance. The bottom end including transmission and clutch was also checked and found to be in perfect working condition. CCI oil injection system is working. Frame, wheel hubs, and swing arm were powder coated. Triple clamps and forks were polished to a chrome finish. The exhaust pipe and silencer came with the bike and were in perfect structural condition. There are some scuff marks on the pipe from it being rubbed when kicking it over with boots on. Vintage Suzuki supplied the fenders and side panels. The bike was fitted with new Excel rims, tubes and new tires. Rear shocks, seat cover and foam are new. Many miscellaneous NOS parts were used. All fasteners were nickel plated, many of which are original and retain the Suzuki “S” on the head. This TM400 has been restored for about 2 ½ years and has been started and ridden up and down the street once or twice every few months. Currently, the fuel has been drained and it is in long term storage. The bike can be a hard starter when it is cold. The kicker has to be positioned so that the piston is at the top of the stroke and then it has to have a solid kick. It does take some getting used to. Also, it should be mentioned that the kick starter spring may need to be replaced since the kick starter does not spring back into place as well as it should. Other than that there are zero issues. Please ask questions? Shipping is the responsibilty of the buyer. I am unable to crate but I can transport to a local trucking company if they provide containers. Delivery to certain Florida areas is negotiable. The bike is located in Jacksonville, Florida 32259. The reserve is very reasonable for the amount of time and money involved in this restoration.
