Vehicle Detail

This is a beautiful piece of historic American steel. Three years before this Thunderbird came off the assembly line, Ford Motor Company had introduced the Mustang. Because the Mustang was a lower-cost Ford muscle-car, not as many of these T-birds exist. It is a rare piece, indeed. The engine is the original 390 cubic engine, big block V-8. The carburetor has been replaced recently with a new Edelbrock 4-barrel carb. (see picture). The car was found by the previous owner as a "barn-find," meaning this car sat unused for many of its 43 year existence. The mileage when I bought it a year ago was sworn to be 41,000 miles by the previous owner. It currently has just under 44,000 miles. Since the car had not been driven in many years, the original tires and wheels had dry-rotted and rusted. They have been replaced with four Status brand "Samurai," 20-inch wheels and four brand-new Eagle GT, 245/35Z/R20 tires, with just over 2,000 miles on them. To see a brief video of the engine being started cold, click here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mBSP2Nf43Aw This car is in excellent condition. It is, however, far from "showroom" quality. The interior is gorgeous. It runs great and is street-legal. But it will need work to be the jewel it can be. This car needs the right person with the know-how and the ability to give it the restoration it deserves. I simply don't have the time or resources to do this. Just to make it clear, this car is being sold AS IS, and has no warranty of any kind from me. But I assure you, it is a rare, "Diamond in the Rough." Forgot to mention that the brake booster was just replaced 2,000 miles ago with a brand new Ford Motor Company part, installed by the local Ford Dealer.
