Vehicle Detail
This is an original Team Hammer/Team Valvoline Suzuki GSXR750 Super Sport bike. This is a piece of road racing history you can own and now legally ride. I have been in contact with Team Hammer's owner John Ulrich and this bike's rider, Michael Martin and validated its authenticity. Team Hammer/Team Valvoline Suzuki received this bike new from Suzuki for the 1991 season. The bike was originally built to SuperSport legal specs and campaigned all through the 1991 season. The 1991 Road Atlanta 750 Super Sport race was the last race that this bike was professionally raced in. At the end of the 91' season, Team Hammer sold this bike to an individual in Texas. In 92' the 2nd owner road raced it as a privateer for 8 races, then decided to build it into a "Show Bike" and then showed the bike across the country for several years where it won trophies every where. The bike has a ton of factory race parts as well as custom "one off" built items the 2nd owner installed. The engine is a 771cc, believed to be built by Race Engine Service in Alvarado Tx. The 2nd owner told me the engine was built right before the 91' Road Atlanta race and was basically brand new when he got the bike in 92'. He dynoed the bike back in 92' and with the 38mm Mikuni flatsides it used to have, made 116rwhp. The bike has very limited street time on it as it never received the road equipment to make it legal. After it was built into a show bike in 93'-94'....it was showed from 94' on to about 98' we believe, then it was sold to a Restauranteer in Dallas Tx where the bike was put on display inside of a Hot Rod themed restaurant for about 7-8 years.....My friend bought the bike from the Restauranteer back in 2007 with intentions of making it street legal and riding it. Unfortunately work and life kept him from working on the bike and it sat in storage for 3 years until I finally bought it off of him and performed all of the needed work to get it road worthy and legal. The bike has a clear Texas Blue title in my name. I have just completed a full detail and reassembly of the bike, along with a basic service/tune up, carb rebuild, new fuel lines etc. This bike is now ready to ride, has all working lights, brand new license tags, new pilot power tires is and ready to go for the Summer. I have actually just put about 300 miles on it myself since completion. The bike now has original Mikuni BST38ss carbs on it and runs pretty well. I think some further carb tuning could really get it perfect but it currently starts, idles and runs well although it does have a few rich spots in the powerband I have not tuned out. The bike only has 2978 original miles, it had just over 2600 miles when I brought it out of hibernation. The engine is smooth and quiet, had 155-165 psi on all cylinders (cold). The charging system charges well at 14.8v. This bike has been very reliable since I revived it and I feel will make someone a very unique, daily rideable sport bike. This bike has WAY too many custom, one off built race parts to list here, call me for the full details. (See the previous owner's spec sheet below) Please call or email me for additional info, pictures etc, I will be happy to go over everything I know about the bike with you.
