72 OPEL GT COUPE This car will start, run and drive, but will be sold for parts or restoration only. This car has not been a daily driver in many years. There is considerable rust on the floorboards and other areas as well. The engine sounds excellent, and the four speed transmission works great. The engine and transmission may be the best parts to the whole car! It was originally General Lee bright orange, but has since been painted dark red which is now flat and old. It has a cool original wood grain sport steering wheel, black bucket seat interior. The interior, is fair, its all original and 40 years old. It has full gauges including a big factory tachometer. It has a rear window defogger. The flip around headlights still work fine. It has pop out rear side vent windows. The driver's door wont open from the inside handle (have to roll down the window to get out). It has one brand new tire,the rest are OK, and factory styled wheels with trim rings and chrome center caps. The exhaust is good and tight, the brakes seem to stop it OK. I sometimes have to tap on the starter to get it to turn over. Other then the paint, I believe it's mostly all original and complete. There MAY or MAY NOT be too much rust to make it worth rebuilding, that's up to the next owner I guess....... Please understand this and bid accordingly. I have only driven this car around town a few times, I would definitely suggest transporting it home. I am offering this car for parts or restoration purposes ONLY! I also have a 1970 Opel GT coupe, that is identical but has an incredibly solid body but will need engine work. I may be listing that one next one on Ebay next unless the winning bidder of this one wants to make a package deal for the pair.
