Vehicle Detail
Up for auction is a 1990 PC800 Pacific Coast Project Bike. At present this bike has 42,474 miles on it. We bought this bike back in August of last year with the intention of restoring it for one of our sons. This bike was not running when we bought it because it had been sitting for a while in the owner’s garage. We brought this bike home and removed all of the body parts down to the condition you see in the photos. I cleaned the carb’s and installed new gas, plugs, fuel filter, oil, oil filter and cleaned the air filter element. I checked and corrected a couple of improper vacuum issues that I found. After doing all of that the bike starts up and runs great. It starts fast and after a brief warm up it idles smooth like it should. This bike does not smoke, knock, rattle or vibrate when it idles or when you throttle it up. It sounds good and tight! After I got it running good I rode it down the road and back (1 mile total) and it runs and shifts fine as it should. The tires are still in good shape with a lot of miles left on them. All of the gauges seem to work properly as they should. All of the lights worked before we disassembled it. We have had 3 of these PC800s and this is the last one, so who ever gets this one will get some extra parts like three (3) windshields for example. You will also get 2 new oil filters, new fuel filter, 2 new K&L PC800 Carb rebuild kits #18-9346 89-98, 4 used spark plugs as spares, PC800 owners manual and a complete Honda 89-90 & 94-98 Service/shop manual. You can ride this bike just like you see it in the photos so you know that you have a good solid platform to work with as you finish this project we started. Our son is now concentrating on going off and starting college this summer and a motorcycle is not on his short list of priorities. He would certainly ride it if I finished it for him but I told him if he did not participate in the build then he would not get the bike once it is done. I have been waiting for three months for him to get interested but it has not happened so here it now is on E-bay. Someone had painted this bike black some time ago and did not do a great job with it. They apparently had installed some type of radio so there are a couple of places where there are mounting holes for things like switches, antennas...etc. My plan was to have all of the parts painted before I started putting it back together. There are a few of the plastic parts that I would even consider replacing because of scratches or mounting tab issues. If you put this bike back like it is it would not look all that bad and you would have a cheap good running bike. But if you wanted a bike that really looked nice then you should get the parts painted before you put it together instead of having to take it back apart again later for painting. You can get this bike repainted few hundred dollars. The shop manual for this bike shows every step required step by step on how to reassemble every part on this bike. This is by far the best shop/repair manual I have ever seen for a motorcycle. It gives you a description of each part and tells you where every screw goes. If someone were mechanically inclined then they could easily reassemble this bike in one day. I don’t have the need or desire to spend anymore time on it if my son is not interested. With some cleaning, polishing, elbow grease, painting and reassembling you would have a really dependable nice motorcycle worth about three times or more of what you will get it for here. I have set the reserve price for what we paid for it when we bought it in a “not running” condition. Someone will be getting a good deal. If the reserve price is not met then I will part the bike out and probably get a lot more for the parts anyway. Please don’t ask to buy any of the parts during this auction because we will not sell anything until this auction is over and then if it does not sell we will sell each part separately or I may just complete the project myself. Please keep in mind this bike needs some work so if you are capable of that then this will make a nice project but if you are not mechanically inclined then I would look at another bike all together. These bikes have been known to get over 300,000 miles on them with excellent gas mileage. These bikes require very low maintenance and are very quick and have lots of power. This bike will come with a full tank of fresh gas. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * Hopefully you can tell by our E-Bay feedback that we do not make claims or representations that are not 100% accurate.
