Vehicle Detail
1959 Studebaker Pickup. Very restorable, everything needed is there, so no scrounging for parts. This truck has Studebakers largest V8 the 289, and the engine bay shows everything is there with the exception of the air cleaner. I haven’t tested the engine or attempted to start it, but was told that it ran when parked. This truck has the expected surface rust, but very little actual rust through. The only rust issues I’ve noticed that would require focused work are along the front edge of the hood and the passenger rear fender is rough and I was planning to use one of the available replacement rear fenders. The doors currently on the truck had considerable rust on the bottoms, so I purchased additional doors which will be easier to repair and they go with the truck so you can just swap out the latches, windows etc. All other panels look useable and very workable. A good sand or media blasting would prep this truck well. I was attracted to this truck because of how complete it is. The dash has all the knobs and details intact. I’ve had this truck about 4 years now and have been too busy with other project cars to get to it. I have covered it with Rustmort rust treatment every month or so, so it is in the same or better shape than when I purchased it. It has a Ford 9” rear under it. I assume a previous owner made that swap to make the truck more drivable at highway speeds. Otherwise it is completely original and complete. I have taken lots of detailed and close-up photos to show it’s true condition. $200 Deposit required within 72 hours of Auction close. On Mar-27-11 at 15:07:33 PDT, seller added the following information: I have posted 40 pictures of this truck on Photobucket.com. Just search for "Argylesspeedshop" to find the album. Photobucket has a nice zoom feature you'll find at the top of the pictures allowing you to see about everything on this truck like you were standing beside it. I've taken pictures of every area that I think needs work. Please remember the doors mounted on the truck are rough, but additional doors also shown come with the purchase. There is a title with the truck from 1970. The back is signed by the owner listed on the title.
