Vehicle Detail

Up for auction is a very hard to find 1992 SAAB 900S convertible. PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING CAREFULLY! This vehicle was street legal and properly registered through the Spring of this year. It blew the lower radiator hose at night and the engine over-heated. It would not start after that. It was towed to my home where I checked it out. Low compression in cylinders 2 & 3 indicates a blown head gasket. The owner of the car did not wish to repair it as he needed a vehicle right away and purchased another. I am selling this vehicle for him. I have listed this car on EBAY in the past, so if you are one of the following, DO NOT BID ON THIS CAR! 1 - A teenager looking for a cheap ride 2- Someone who can't read the above and thinks it is running 3- Someone who is going to ask me a lot of questions for no reason The car is as follows: First, you WILL NOT FIND A SAAB WITH A BETTER BODY THAN THIS CAR! There is virtually no rust anywhere that I can find, in the wheel wells, rocker panels, fenders, under the doors, etc. There is some surface rust on the hood and the paint there is deteriorated due to engine heat (no pad under the hood) and the rear trunk lid has a bad paint spot, but that's about it! Except for those areas, the rest of the cars paint, bumpers, glass, trim, body panels are all in very good condition. Mechanically, everything else, except for the engine and its low compression worked well that I know of. The air conditioning unit is present but I was not able to test it, so that is an unknown. The owner drove this car back and forth to work for several months. Transmission, drive train, shocks, exhaust, brakes, steering, instruments, all were fine and in running order. The top was replaced some time ago, the rear glass is fine, there are a few small wear spots in the top fabric, small but stilll there. No rips or tears, busted seams, etc. Pretty decent top for a convertible of this age. The front windshield shows no cracks or chips. The interior is tan leather, the passenger seat and rear are in very good condition, the driver's side has tears in the seat stitching and the back rest is bent backwards. It will need to be repaired or the seat replaced. The door panels are good and the rugs appear to be good as well. The dash and instruments are intact. Problems that I know of that will need repair are: Engine compression (obviously), right front headlamp loose, right front parking light lens cracked, driver's seat repairs, lower radiator hose needs replacement, small tubing for engine PVC. IF YOU ARE SERIOUS ONLY, send me your questions. I have had this car for some time and it needs to move on to someone who can repair it or use it as a parts car. I am VERY TIRED of answering questions about this car to people who have no real interest. The car has been snow-bound in my yard since December, those of you in the NE know what kind of winter we had. Now that Spring is here and the snow is going, so must this car. It is what it is, read the above carefully. I recently saw a same-year and type SAAB sell locally, without an engine or transmission, for much more than the owner is asking for this one. I also WILL NOT part this car out, as everyone wants the transmission and engine, it seems. Sorry, no time or place to do something like that. .THIS CAR MUST BE TOWED and although it was registered, it is no longer and cannot be put on the road currently. For the money, I cannot think of a better SAAB convertible of this vintage to be easily placed back on the road, or used for many, many good parts for you SAAB lovers out there. You know what this car is and how hard they are to find. I will require a deposit of $200 at auction end within three days, the remainder can be paid in cash when the vehicle is picked up within 30 days of auction close and the clear title handed over to you at that time. PAYPAL can be used for a deposit as well within 3 days of auction close. Harold
