All mods and repairs have been done in the last 15,000miles. I have done away with all the typical Dodge Ram issues. I.e., steering play, steering wander, poor braking, poor suspension, weak tranny, poor lift pump, and broken a/c components. Hook up a boat or trailer and haul up steep grades @ 80mph+ all the while monitoring engine parameters such as egt's, coolant temp, tranny temp, and boost. If you know anything about Cummins or Dodge than you know that the motor will outlast the truck roughly by ten fold. I have spent the better part of a year rebuilding this truck from the ground up. I have spent countless hours under this truck replacing or upgrading everything on it except the engine. The Cummins absolutely purrs and has tons of power with the upgrades I have done to it and with a fully built tranny it can handle a lot more. The Quadzilla in cab monitor adjusts power levels on the fly and doubles as gauges. Egt's, turbo boost, coolant temp, and tranny temp are easily seen on the screen. Truck has never seen egt's over 1250* which is what Cummins states is acceptable temps while towing. This truck is very fast and shifts strong. I hate to sell after so much time and money invested but I just finished a frame off restoration of a 1970 F250 with Cummins. It is a great 4x4 truck that has been given new life and is ready to go another 200k without a doubt. Many people agree that Cummins 5B series mare the best motors ever made. I fell in love with it a soon as I bought this truck. Thats why i just put one in a 1970 F250. I sold a 2005 F250 powerstroke diesel to buy this 2 years ago and have never looked back. If you're looking for diesel to work or play, Cummins is by far the best choice. Recommended overhaul mileage by Cummins is between 350 & 400 thousand miles. However most go much further than that. When I bought this truck 2 years ago, Carfax showed 1 accident in the trucks life back in 05 or 06. I never got any more info than that and have spent hundreds of hours working on this truck, above and below, and have never seen any signs of a collision. Truck runs roughly 32/34 psi of boost under good acceleration. Please call or email with any questions. I can be reached @ 858-six 9 nine -8 seven oh 9 I do a considerable amount of driving with 3 children in the truck and really there is plenty of space. I have included pictures with and without the car seats to try and give you an accurate idea of available space. The paint is not perfect. It cleans up very well but does have a few scratches you might expect for a 10 year old truck. There is 2 small dings near the top of the bed on the passenger side. There is also 2 small dings on top of the hood on the drivers side. The dash also has a few cracks. It has the standard crack that all Rams do on the passenger side which I epoxied to keep it from making any noise while driving. There is a larger crack on the drivers side right in front of the windshield that occurred at the dealership when I had the evaporator for the a/c replaced. They had to pull the whole dash out to install the evap and did a number on the dash. I did not recognize it at the time and when I finally did they said they were not responsible. I will try and post a pic. The truck has passed California smog as of March 2010. The Quadzilla does have a turbo timer which I have set at 375*. For anyone who does not know what this is, it allows the turbo to cool down to a desired temp before the engine shuts off to protect the turbo bearings from coking up due to overheated oil. You set it, lock the doors, and walk away. It turns off when it cools down. And no, if someone jumped in and tried to drive away it will shut off as soon as the gas pedal is touched. Truck runs 2000 rpm's @ 75 mph. I only have 32" tires on the truck right now. With 33" or 35" i am sure it would be much lower. The VP44 is the high pressure injection pump that cam on Rams from 1998.5 to 2002. They are good pumps but they require constant fuel supply to lubricate them which the stock lift pump does not do, eventually killing them. VERY EXPENSIVE FIX. Thats what the AirDog is. It is a 100 gallon per hour fuel pump, fuel filter, and water seperator. I personally would not buy a 2nd gen Ram without an aftermarket lift pump on it. Otherwise you can be assured of replacing the VP44. THE BAD: The reading lamps on the overhead console are not working. Also the sun glass holder clip is broken so I just have it held shut with velcro. One of the small windows on the truck shell busted due to a very large pothole. I am currently searching for a replacement. YOU CAN COPY AND PASTE THIS LINK INTO YOUR BROWSER TO SEE VIDEOS OF MY TRUCK. http://s215.photobucket.com/albums/cc67/dlonno/2001%20Dodge%20ram/ I also forgot to add that the motor oil is Valvoline blue 15w/40, which is Cummins reccomended oil. I change religiously every 3 thousand miles. Takes all of about 10 mins with the Fumoto valve. I've been getting a lot of calls from all over the U.S. from a lot of good guys. I enjoy talking to other diesel enthusiasts at length about this truck. I am getting offers that I would not say are low ball offers but are reasonable for the typically worn 150k ++ mileage Dodges on Ebay. If you buy one of those other trucks on ebay , please be prepared to deal with the issues that will surely be there. These Dodges are all the same and my problems were not unique. Go to any Dodge forum and you can see the laundry list of issues that arise when these Rams surpass 100k. Most will be on there 2nd tranny at least. The steering is a very real issue, unless you enjoy a lot of play and wander going down the highway. Most of the a/c components fail. These heavy motors eat up front end parts and not the cheap ones. Hubs and ball joints are no fun to replace. If the truck has the stock lift pump, you will be replacing the injection pump. The fact is Chrysler builds an inferior product compared to Ford and GM but they have the motor we all want. I am willing to work with serious buyers but please do not try to compare this truck to most of the other trucks on ebay when making an offer. If you would like to purchase without the shell, racks, and carpet kit I will lower the reserve by $750.Please be assured that this truck needs nothing. It is turn key ready to go and solid as a rock. Thanks, Dave
