1972 Porsche 911T Coupe, non sunroof, 4 speed Sportomatic and mechanical fuel injection, only 293 made that year. Engine number is 6129146 Type 911/61 Color is 022-9-2 Bahia Red, the whole car has been left very original without any major body modifications. Has bigger fuel tank. Drives good, Sporto shifts very well, engine starts up good, no smoke, pulls stronger than expected. Tires old, paint shows age, good interior, excellent headliner and sun visors, bright work is only painted without sanding so it can be undone. Body is very well preserved, does not need restoration, consider that this car is 40 years young, front pan had been done many years ago. Car can be used as is or make better. New brake hoses, shifter bushings, 2 batteries, oil and filter, vacuum hoses, all new fuel hoses front and rear, new MFI fuel pump and filter, injectors cleaned. So all in all pretty rare car: 1972, MFI, Sporto, Coupe, Fuchs We have 10+ Porsche cars and also parts On Mar-21-11 at 14:14:35 PDT, seller added the following information: Sportomatic Information: Produced from 1968 to around sometime in 1980, the Sportomatic transmission was based on two gearbox models, Type 905 and 925. Unlike a conventional automatic transmission, the system can be described as a 'clutchless manual' gearbox. When a driver shifts in a Sportomatic car, a microswitch on the gearstick operates a control valve which controls the vacuum to a diaphragm that operates the clutch release bearing. Like a conventional automatic transmission a torque converter is employed with a high stall speed. However, the converter is operated by engine oil rather than ATF in conventional transmissions. We checked inside of the doors and there is no rust inside the doors. Also we checked under the rear window and there are no rust problems there either. All floors are good.
