Vehicle Detail
This is my 1967 Pontiac Firebird Convertible, which I purchased in 1998. It has always been a clean, solid sunday driver for me. This car was all original everything when I purchased it. I have added some items and upgrades, but will include all original parts to the purchaser. This is a fairly basic convertible, with manual everything.....trans, windows, steering, conv top and brakes....all manual. Overall, the car is in great condition! It has fresh pearl essence white paint and the original 326 has a fairly recent overhaul and upgrade in power. Interior shows wear, but is clean overall. The convertible top is in poor condition and needs to be replaced. I only drove her on sunny days, so have never felt the need to replace it.Here's what I can tell ya. This is my unfinished project and it breaks my heart to sell it. But I have no choice. Car is almost done. I have invested some $20,000 in this car over the years and it needs very little. A simple project for the right buyer. The engine is the original 326 cid, which has been bored 30 over. In addition to new pistons, we added a cam, hardened valve seats, valves and ground the crank. An aluminum intake and 600cfm carb finish it off. The car also includes its original Muncie M-20 4 speed trans. Shifts smooth and solid. The engine exhausts through new headers and a custom bent and welded exhaust system, run "the right way"....using the right muffler.......and chrome tips. Original intake manifold, carberator, exhaust manifold and cam shaft are all included with car. The body has always been solid and looked nice, as long as Ive had it. I did have the car painted about 2 years ago with GM pearl white paint, very nice!!.....No major body work was required, but we could see that some panels had been repaired previously. If I had to say, I would guess the rear quarters and truck pan were replaced probably 25 years ago. I have placed a lot of new chrome, including sill plates, wheel mouldings and a front bumper. Spoilers were also added. Both are painted separately, so they can be unbolted and removed, with a need to repaint. All new weather stripping too. Interior is decent. No big tears or splits. Seat were dyed years ago and back seat is flaking a bit. Carpet and floor mats are new. Everything else is clean. Added a wood wheel and 200 watt vintage stereo, but it is not hooked up. All parts included. New gauges also, but not yet mounted. All parts included. In summary, nice new paint and chrome.....clean interior.....fresh firebreathing , all original 326 - 4speed........very drivable now Now, the needs...........as it is a minor project.......has some minor wiring needs, as some lights/blinkers dont work, the radio and gauges are not fully connected and the horn circuit is shorted, forcing me to unplug the horn. Following the paint work, I purchased new hood hinges, but have not been able to get hood to latch properly. I believe its an alignment issue, but have not resolved it yet. Finally, the convertible top is in poor condition. It has been folded away for years and now has paint on it. A black leather boot covers it nicely and is included in the sale. The chassis has not had any major work. Brakes could use some attention and shocks are fairly old too. Drivers quality underneath. No leaks. Car includes many extras, including original wheels, manifolds, carb, manuals, lots of parts and pieces, 1967 Ohio plates, storage cover.....blah, blah, blah...... Ask questions if you got em......pick up only......available eves and weekends to view.......for sale locally at BIN price.....seller reserves right to end auction for local buyer at that price.....best project car in town.....my loss your gain.....yada yada yada.......
