Vehicle Detail

This bike is one of the first 900 CB500 Fours ever built. 1971 was the first year they made these and the vin # shows that it is the 842nd CB 500 ever made. It has under 7000 miles on it. It ran when I got it last fall and I haven't touched it since. I was going to restore it but have since been out of work and I have to sell a few toys! The original tank had some dents and rust inside so I bought a replacement for it with no rust and in great cosmetic condition. I also got two side covers that are nearly perfect to replace the originals that had some cracks. I also bought a seat that is almost perfect too, and if you know these old bikes you know how hard it is to come by these in good condition never mind almost perfect! This has incredible potential to be a gorgeous bike! Come and look at it if you want....sorry about the cell phone pics but it is all I have. I think the exhaust, though in good condition, is from a later model from what I can tell by looking at photos of the original 1971 models. Tires will most likely need to be replaced, as they look like they could be original. The rear fender had a big dent so I also bought a replacement that has no dents and the chrome is very nice {shown in pic}, but I never got around to attaching it. NO SHIPPING unless buyer pays in full, in advance, and arranges everything with shipper. Thanks. The bike was originally from NY and the seller told me that NY state kept the title ond only issued registrations. I have the transferrable registration, and it is written "transferrable" on it, so there should be no problem getting a title for it and on the road. I will also give buyer a complete bill of sale. The last two pics were taken last fall with the original tank and side covers on, with the new seat. I wanted to show the seat the bike with the taillight/fender attached. That original tank looks better in pics but it had some dents you can't see clearly and a lot of rust inside. A few people have asked if it runs right now. It will need to have the petcock and gas lines hooked up...a simple job, and the battery will need charging after the winter storage. It should start right up like it did in the fall. I never had it registered myself, as I bought it late in the season, so I didn't take it on the road, but the bike ran and sounded great. This engine has many miles and years left in it!! Also, when I bought the replacement taillight/blinkers etc, the wires had been cut, so they will have to be re-wired when attached. Another easy fix. SELLING AS IS. I paid more than my asking price for the bike..AND I spent at least another $500 for the new seat, tank, covers, tailight etc, so this is a good deal.
