Vehicle Detail
You've been looking for it, and here it is! A 1983 Honda CB1000C in GREAT condition! She's black and FAST! She has a shaft drive with a 10, yes TEN speed transmission. This bike was Honda's last year for the air-cooled, in-line 4 cylinder. A bank of 4 rebuilt and syncronized carbs feed this beast. Braking is via a dual caliper, dual piston, dual disc front system with a unique anti-dive fork system while the back end has a single disc, dual piston caliper. I added a ShowChrome instrument pack to monitor the charging system which also has a clock and thermometer built in. The stock grips were exchanged for larger, more comfortable foam grips. Worn out stock fork springs were changed to new Progressive fork springs with new boots on the rear air-shocks. The factory 4 into 4 exhaust system is intact with no rust! The only negatives here is a small ding in the tank, one on the right muffler, a small side cover crack (repaired) and a weeping oil seal on the shift shaft. Paint is good as is the chrome. Tires and battery are new as well. She has about 15,000 miles on her but I replaced a broken speedometer with a used spare that shows more. Compression is great and all electrics work as designed! She starts and runs like new and is smooth! Honda marketed this bike as a cruiser yet boasted 0-60 in 4 seconds and 0-100 in 9.9 seconds! Highest mileage I've seen so far is 47 mpg, on regular! Wife says I've too many bikes so this one must go, making my loss your gain! These machines in this kind of condition is rare so don't let this one, at this bargain get away! I will help arrange shipping but cost is yours. Low reserve. On Mar-18-11 at 21:34:45 PDT, seller added the following information: I've added a few pictures of the tank ding that also shows the paint condition. On Mar-19-11 at 12:57:09 PDT, seller added the following information: Also I added some Accel High-performance plug wires firing NGK Iridium plugs. All three brake discs were removed, cleaned and painted. Seat is also in excellent condition with no tears/rips. Seat grab rail was removed, polished and interior stripe painted. DynaBeads were installed in both tires for a permanent balance. A floating trickle charger was hard-wired in to maintain the battery, too. (comes with bike). A fuel filter was added between tank and carbs. On Mar-21-11 at 20:29:41 PDT, seller added the following information: CORRECTION ON MILEAGE! A bidder inquired about the old non-working speedometer. I dug into my spare parts bin and found it and it shows 21,000 miles, not the 15K as I listed. This old speedometer will be included in sale as proof of mileage. Another bidder asked about the charger and no the battery is not bad, it is new. I have it on a hard-wired, plug-in charger since I don't ride this bike often and the floating charger keeps the battery up and ready. It is included in the sale as is the bike cover. Feel free to email me any questions.
