Vehicle Detail
This car was built in Germany and sold in the United States. The history of the car is not known. I bought the car in 2009 at an auction in Houston. It had 2005 license plates and was last registered in San Hose California. It has an overhead cam 4 cylinder engine 4 speed manual transmission. When I received the car it would run but not very good. I installed a carburetor kit, did a complete tune-up, set valves. Car cranked up and ran fine. Doesn’t use oil . The car drives really well and is mechanically sound. Replaced thermostat and all rubber hoses. I replaced all transmission linkage bushings, trunk and door handle seals, and various rubber parts that had gotten hard and cracked over years of use. The interior is completely restored with new seat covers, door panels, and carpets that are all hand sewn . I also installed $700 worth of B-Quiet sound reducing material. I repaired various instrument and wiring problems. All instruments work correctly. I bought new heater vent tubing and o-rings but did not install. The body is in great shape. Very little rust. What I did find I cleaned and painted with Por15. Floor panels are in great shape. I have five cars to work on and have lost my passion for this one. It needs a coat of paint and a small amount body work (notice Pictures). Wheels & tires are in good shape. The car get attention and complements when ever I drive it. This car is a drivable restoration project; with very little to do to be show quality. Buyer will be responsible for paying for the shipping.
