Up for auction is a 1964 Ford Galaxie 500XL project. This is a very nice car that has had the complete chassis restored with all new brakes including shoes, cylinders, hoses and springs. All of the bushings have been replaced in the front and rear of the chassis along with tie rods. The engine is a 390 that has been bored with new pistons, bearings, fully balanced, resized rods, rebuilt heads with new Comp valve springs and new stock hydraulic cam and lifters. Engine has the balance card that goes with it. The transmission has been fully rebuilt as well with all new clutches, new pumps (front and rear), new converter and seals. The rear end has had new bearings installed and has been set up properly along with new rear wheel bearings and seals. The chassis was fully painted with Sherwin Williams industrial enamel. The body is fairly straight with the normal dents here and there. The floor panels are very solid and still have the original paint onthem. The only rust in the body is the right rear quarter panel behind the wheel. and a spot in the left lower quarter behind the wheel. The trunk is also very solid and almost perfect. The right door has a dent in the center of the door towards the rear and the left door was replaced at some point. Overall, the body is in great shape and would be an easy restore. the interior is very nice as well and is all original. It is missing the drivers door panel. The front bumper has been re-chromed and the Grille, Headlight bezels, rear bezels and rear trim have been re-anodized and are very nice. The car also has the rare swing away steering column and is complete. All of the car is there and would be an easy restore. I have more in this car than I am trying to get for it.
