1970 BMW 2002!!! Here is a beautiful 1970 BMW 2002 that is an absolute blast to drive. This rust free 2002 is finished in a beautiful shade of red over a black interior. This car is in very nice condition and was originally sold in Los Angeles California and has spent the majority of its life in southern California and Arizona. We have STACKS of receipts and even the original service log book for the car with the stamps from the BMW dealership service department. The previous owner was an avid 2002 fan and had owned this car for about 20 years!!! This is an amazingly solid and rust free 2002 with very clean undercarriage. These little 2002s are the iconic BMW and are an absolute blast to drive. Sadly, many of these cars have been cut up and modified for racing that it can sometimes be difficult to find a car that is mostly original. This is a great driving BMW that starts up and runs GREAT! The engine runs like a top, the transmission shifts perfectly, and the car handles beautifully. This is a great driving classic BMW that will surely make its new owner happy. Click to enlarge Exterior: This Classic BMW was repainted about 10 years ago and still looks great!!! As you can see from the photos the paint still shines incredibly well and looks great. The bumpers and trim are all in very good condition with good luster and just some very minor imperfections, but overall in very good condition. This is one of the early 2002s which has the thinner chrome bumpers as well as the iconic round taillight. The later cars had bigger, heavier, more rubberized bumpers as well as square taillights which to some purists arent as "clean" looking as the earlier cars. The car really has a great patina to it and looks great driving down the road. This is a great car to drive to your local car show and enjoy on the weekends. Click to enlarge Interior: The interior of this 2002 retains is original appearance and is in very nice shape. The carpets are free of stains and the seats are in nice shape. The dashboard typically cracks on these cars and this BMWs dashboard is in very good shape. The nice big original steering wheel is in great shape and feels great sliding through your hands. The seats are in nice condition and the only thing that really needs some immediate attention is the headliner. The headliner is slightly torn towards the back but overall the interior is in nice condition. Click to enlarge Engine: The 2000cc 4 cylinder engine is plenty powerful and sounds great! The engine fires right up and runs like a top. The engine doesnt blow any smoke on start up or while driving. The engine runs very strong and is responsive. The factory carb has been replaced with a Weber carb. I do have the original intake manifold, carb and air cleaner if the new owner would like to have it. The transmission shifts perfectly and all the gears are a joy to row through. The brakes are powerful and stop this light weight car with ease. The car tracks nice and straight and the car has just been treated to a brand new set of tires. The tach, speedo and the gas gauge work but the temperature gauge does have a tendency to "bounce" which is a typical 2002 trait. You can still read the temperature and the car runs nice and cool, but if you are familiar with 2002s you will know what I am talking about. All of the lights and turn signals work great. Overall the car drives beautifully and is an absolute blast to drive. If you have never driven one of these car you will quickly realize why people covet these cars.
