Vehicle Detail
This is a beautiful 1930 Ford Model A Cabriolet Convertible Model 68-B. Unlike the Roadster, the Cabriolet has side windows that roll up and make this a wonderful closed car for cooler weather, but can also be enjoyed in the summer as a convertible with the top down. The previous owner saw this car at a show in South Carolina 10 years ago, fell in love with it and purchased it. He drove the car in a few parades and also won trophies at his local shows. He has since passed away and I was thrilled to have the opportunity to buy the car myself. I fully intended to keep the car and display it with my Model T's but have some projects I need to finish so regrettably I am listing it for sale. The restoration on this Model A is probably around 12 years old and though not perfect, it is still nicer than 90% of the Model A's you will see. The paint colors are original 1930 Ford Model A colors. The body is Kewanee Green with Black fenders and the wheels along with the pin stripe are Apple Green. The interior in this Model A is gorgeous and I just had the dash wood grained. The garnish moldings are chrome plated and the interior rear view mirror is chrome plated also. The shifter knob is a swirled glass knob and the floor is carpeted. The rumble seat compartment is just as nice and the floor mat is the original style rubber. Mechanically this Model A starts right up and runs like a Model A should. I just installed a New Rex Electronic Cut Out on the generator which provides a continuous 20 amps without having to worry about sticking points. The battery is also new. The carburetor is the Zenith -1. I also just changed the oil, cleaned the plugs and set the timing. I wouldn't be afraid to drive this Model A anywhere. It really runs nice. The tires are the Firestone 475-500 19inch Wide White walls and they still have over 95% of their tread. The following is a list of accessory items on the car: Running board step plates Dual side mirrors Cowl lights Electric wiper motor Motor meter Stone Guard Chrome headlight bar Spartan horn Dual tail lights Rear accessory center bumper bar Muffler extension This Model A also has it's AACA creator badge on the back from the New York region established in 1960 If you've been looking for a Model A here's your chance to get a hold of a rare and quickly appreciating Cabriolet. These are getting very hard to find and especially in this condition. The car is available for your inspection prior to bidding. It is listed with a very reasonable reserve which will be kept confidential. If you have a zero rating or excessive negatives, please contact me before bidding or your bid will be removed. Full payment due within 5 days of auctions end by Bank Wire Transfer, Cashier's check with 10 days to clear or Cash.
