Vehicle Detail

NO RESERVE!! This piece of history will go to the highest bidder. For auction is this 1968 Suzuki 500 Cobra. The bike shows just over 15000 miles. Though this bike is some 43 years old it has a great deal going for it. There are also a couple of items that will need to be addressed. First I cleaned the carbs which were in good condition and now after a Sonic bath they look GREAT. The Tank had already been Professionally coated and is spotless inside. Next inspect the points, oil up the cylinders and it started on the second kick, WOW what a sound, much more agressive than a T500. Rode it up and down the street, all five gears smooth as silk. This bike will put a smile on your face. Here is a list about the bike: The Good: Front and rear fender are original with normal wear. Headlight and ears are nice. Instruments are very nice and tach redline is bright red. All lights function. Tank is very solid with knee pads intact with some slight age cracking. Engine sound great with NO strange noises. Factory air box with air nice soft air boot. Original equipment type rear shocks. Factory "bumper" (grab rail). Nice tail light and bracket. Wheels are decent with some light rust. Pipes I believe are original and have normal wear and minamal rust. I think the bike was originally bronze and is now black It even has the original air Pump on the right side of the frame. Not So Good: I got the bike out of Ga. and it has no Title. The bike sounds and shift great but the idle fluctuates and the right cylinder runs hotter than the left. I believe the crank seal is the issue. This bike is way to nice not to have this fixed. I am just not prepared for that right now as I have some 35 vintage bikes that need my attention and $$$. Seat cover seal on right side is pulled loose and 2 of the pan brackets are missing. Pan is very solid. It looks to be a nearly original 68 Cobra from my limited knowledge. All of the lights work. Buyer is responsible for the cost and arranging of shipping. Either pick the bike up yourself, or arrange to have it hauled. Daily Direct or Uship online will give you shipping quotes. Please make your shipping arrangements before the end of the auction as I will store the bike no longer than 2 weeks after the end of the auction. I will accept Paypal, money orders or cash, if picking up in person. A $300 non-refundable deposit is required through Paypal within 48 hours of the end of the auction. Payment in full must be received within 7 days of the end of the auction. Thanks for the interest !! If you need more info just call 704 777-8751 On Mar-13-11 at 13:12:30 PDT, seller added the following information: Update Sun : Found an air leak at right intake manifold gasket. Fixed that and both cylinders are running at the same temp. Rode the bike today and NO lean pinging on the right cylinder. Starts great, shifted very good and continued to run good for the fifteen minutes I rode it. Now I see why everyone likes these so much. Turned it off from the ride, came back 2 minutes later and just one stab and see is idling smooth. Left cylinder smoking a little more than the right but it has been sitting for a while leaning to the left.
