Vehicle Detail

thewholesaleflagsstore Store 1970 Volkswagen Beetle Convertible: I am selling my 1970 Volkswagen Project car which I have owned since the late 90s. I had a lot of the restoration done on this car about 11-12 years ago and it is ready for the next person to take it the next step and wrap everything up. The car runs well and has had a lot of work already done to it. It is in need of painting, cosmetic work including a new top. This will be a fantastic car for someone who wants an exceptional looking VW beetle that could be taken to show worthiness or enjoyed as a fun car to drive on hot summer days. History of the Car: I got this car from a friend who was in a VW Club with me for several years in the mid to late 90s. He had purchased this car from yet another club member who had owned and garage stored this car since the early 80s. As the person that I purchased the car from purchased the car for himself, he told me that the car was in very good condition when he got it and had very little rust. He decided that he wanted to take the car to show condition and started a complete restoration of the car during his ownership. His work was top notch and he did not limit his investment in it as I will describe below. As I purchased the car, I continued down the path of restoring it but life just got too busy for me which brings me to where I am today with selling it. . Mechanical: The Motor was rebuilt in the mid to late 90s and has low mileage on it. It runs very well and I am not aware of anything that it needs. The car drives easily and nicely and does not need anything mechanically that I am aware of. The prior owner cut no expense when he purchased the transmission for this car. The transmission was purchased from Germany in the mid to late 90s and was crated over and then installed into this car before the motor was installed. In other words, the transmission is virtually brand new. The car runs excellent, sounds good, starts right up and should not need any further attention other than the installation of some simple hoses as you can see in the picture. Brakes: The Master Cylinder, Brake Lines, Brakes, Wheel Cylinders, etc. were all replaced as the car was restored. They work perfectly and I am not aware of anything that is needed in this area. Exterior: The exterior of the car is in very solid condition and is in need of paint work to complete it. I am aware of two very small repair spots on the car that should be redone and they should be very visible from the pictures. The first spot is just inside the headlight assembly area on the front fenders where there appears to be some body filler. There is also another very small rust spot on the driver’s side door well towards the front of the door jam. This spot is half way up the door jam and is a very small rust spot. There has already been some painting done to the car which you should be able to see from the pictures. The front trunk and the wheel wells have already been painted and look very nice. Some painting has occurred inside the car but it still needs more to complete. Paint Preparation and Painting is obviously needed on the rest of the exterior of the car. The body of the car is very solid and should be ready to just prep and paint it. Interior: The seats are in medium condition and would likely need some attention if you wish to take this car to show condition. Electrical: The electrical components of this car seem to work fine and I am not aware of anything that they need. Convertible Top: The Convertible top needs to be replaced. It has a glass rear window that can be seen from the pictures Miscellaneous: I want to emphasize that I have a lot of VW parts for this car that I did not show in the pictures. I also have extra convertible doors of the same year and color, an extra front hood which is nicer than the one that is on the car, etc. The buyer is welcome to these parts. Otherwise, be aware that the tires do have good traction but they are old and should be replaced. The car is also missing the front windshield which I do not have. Overall: This will be a very nice car for someone who is looking for a relatively easy project to complete. It has had massive amounts of work already done to it and is in need of someone to take it to the next step and complete it. As stated, the major items that it needs are the paint preparation and painting itself, the windshield and the convertible top. This will be an excellent VW Convertible to own and will bring it’s new owner pleasure for many years to come. Car has been garage kept during my years of owning it. Mileage on the vehicle is 117,000 but engine has been replaced. Unknown how many miles are on the engine. I have tried to describe the car to the best of my ability but cannot possibly describe every item about it. I am a car enthusiast but not a mechanic. I invite you to inspect the car prior to bidding and you are welcome to ask any questions that you wish. Keep in mind that the car is 41 years old and is being sold as is, where is, with no warranty of any kind. Good Luck with your Bidding.
