Vehicle Detail
Well this isn't exactly what I had planned for this car but a financial commitment forces the sale. Dont feel bad for me I'm buying a 46ft speedboat. The Car 1969 Cutlass S Convertible 350 4 Barrel V-8 Dual Exhaust 400 Turbo 3-speed transmission Air Conditioning Power Steering Power Brakes Console Shifter Bucket Seats Manual Top The Story I had been eyeballing this car for the past few years. It was parked under a carport next door to a buds house.Story had it that an elderly women owned it and had passed away and the husband couldnt bare to part with it. Yeah I know the little old lady story but I'm believing it. Story goes the car was built at the Ventura California plant and was sold at a Arizona dealership. The elder women was the second owner. I have some paper work showing she owned it in Arizona and I think the first plate that was put on the car. She brought the car up from Arizona and passed away shortly afterward. After enough pestering I was granted permission to buy it. I dumped a fresh five of premium in the tank splashed a little in the carb installed a new battery and turned the key. It rolled over but no spark. I took a fingernail file to the points and BAMM. I swear on my Dads life she fired right up,no smoke,no tick,no hammer just purred like a kitten more like growled like a bear true Duals sound awesome. Not to loud but has just the perfect rumble. The picture of the under dash gauges was taken yesterday after driving the car around for about an hour. The temp has never gone past 185 and what you are seeing in the pic is the engine at idle after running for an hour. The oil pressure goes up just off idle and more with more rpms. Apparently she was a stickler for upkeep because this thing drives tight as two coats of paint. Speaking of paint it needs a paint job but as far as I can tell there is only a couple of small rust areas. There is one on the driverside rear quarter that will probably open up to the size of a golf ball or bigger when the grinding begins but other then that she is soild and mostly straight. There are a few dings and dents but overall will be a hella good start for the right person. I was told the car has the original motor and trans and I have no reason to challenge that. You can guess all day about engine color and various options but the only true way to tell is to remove the power steering bracket and bounce the numbers off the VIN and I'm not going there. I will make this promise because I believe its the original engine if you are the high bidder and want to remove the bracket and match the numbers you are welcome to do it in my garage. If we determine that it is indeed a replacement motor I will return your deposit and thats that. Please be advised If it is not the original motor I wont take to highly to getting beat up on the price because I will already be selling it for less then I would like but thats the nature of the auction. In other words it is what it is if its not original you can walk with a heart felt apology hell I'll buy the first two rounds at the local tavern if it isnt. If you still want it then you can pay for it and drive off. I'm not trying to be an ass here I just dont want there to be any miss understandings on this auction. I truely believe its original and will be suprised if its not. The Bummer Stuff Needs carpet Needs seats recovered Needs dash pad Needs paint Needs top replaced Needs all door and interior panels replaced The Cool Stuff Motor Runs And Sounds Awesome Tranny shifts properly Alternator Works Properly New Battery All Interior lights Work All Exterior Lights Work Very Little Rust The Sale I'm going to request the high bidder to Pay Pal a $200.00 deposit within 24 hours of auctions end and request the car be payed for and picked up no later then 1 week after the auctions end. Other arrangements can be made for storage but I need to have the car at least payed for within the week. Please avoid paying the full amount through Pay Pal if possible(the fees are over the top)Checks are welcomed but must clear my bank before pick up. Communication Please call me prior to bidding with any questions I will answer them to the best of my ability and can send you unlimited pictures if need be. Due to my self induced financial commitment I cant afford the time to monkey around and list this car over and over till it sells so lets all be on the same page. You will find that I am a very honest man and would never ever miss lead a person in anyway to foster a sale. I would rather down play an item and you be pleasently suprised when you see it opposed to pissed off because you felt dooped. So Please please call me with any and all questions prior to bidding. Thanks. Kurt..573-216-7662 On Mar-03-11 at 10:44:37 PST, seller added the following information: Just a quick note to say it has a clear Mo. Title and it has the old womens name on it and it shows it was previously titled in AZ. There is a small bag of side emblems and some seals of some sort that were in the trunk. The trim molding that belongs on the top of the fenders, doors and quarters are missing. Story goes she was going to have the car painted just prior to moving to Mo and the body shop got started but couldnt finish before the move and they somehow got left behind..On Mar-05-11 at 11:27:22 PST, seller added the following information: I have had a couple of inquiries about the id tag up by the firewall so I figured I would share this info with everybody. Sorry the photos suck but I dont have a nice camera. The spot on the driver quarter will more then likely go through once the grinding begins, the spot on the passenger side may not. Sorry I'm not a body guy so I dont have expertise to evaluate the project better.
