Vehicle Detail

Up For Auction here is a Nice 1982 300D (turbo) That I have owned for 6 plus years. In that time I have done many repairs/upgrades most that I have done myself, some performed my my local shop. I can provide receipts for approx. $4,600.00 for parts that went into the car alone not including the waste vegetable oil conversion. That said, here we go.. The car is a 1982 300D (turbo diesel) which to my knowledge spent a great part of it's life in California, Mississippi, Illinois/Florida. Although the time it spent In IL. I have owned it and never drove during the winter there. There is No rust on this car to speak of outside of maybe a small stone chip or something like that. Currently the car is in Florida near Tarpon Springs where it's garaged and driven almost daily. Correct Mileage is unknown since the old speedometer was replaced with a newer one. some of the things that were done to the car since I've owned it are as follows. New paint my Maaco 4-06 (Palatine, IL.) newer seats and door panels from a Michigan car that was a 240D and at that time door panels and dash were replaced. Originally, none of the electric windows worked so I replaced them with the hand crank windows out of the 240D. Sun roof Motor and cable was replaced with new $300.00 new sunroof seals, trunk seal 3-06, new rear window seal, new front window seal. New carpeting, New floor mats, New headliner (but I didn't replace the section that covers the sunroof however I have the vinyl material here. Mechanically this car is near perfect other than a few small issues I list below, and can and will make the trip anywhere, anytime and do it for almost nothing if you choose. Last September I went from Florida to Illinois for $15.00 worth of diesel.(1235 miles) and never bought diesel once along the way. New Motor mounts and trans mount 5-09 New flex discs in the drive line, new trans cooler lines, new shifter bushings, drive shaft support 6-10. New 1000 lb hitch & 2"ball, wiring and tail light converter. I pulled a small 4x6 trailer to carry grease. Engine starts and runs strong with 5 new injectors 3-10, vacuum pump rebuilt 4-06, all new belts 4-06, new aux. water pump 6-06, tach sender, mono valve for the heater. fuel system was overhauled 9-10 which includes all new rubber fuel lines, tank strainer, cleaned tank sending unit for the fuel gauge at that time, all new fuel filters, New fuel lift pump on engine. about 2 years ago AC system was completely gone through including new compressor, flushed entire system new expansion valve, new dryer, new freeze 12 freon. The AC blows cold but could be colder in my opinion, and recently I found the low side hose up by the fan, has a very small rub mark in the underside which likely explains the slow loss of freon. I have a good used hose to replace it and will include for the new owner to replace. Tires are Yokohama's I bought 2 for the rears new in 7-08 & the fronts were replaced new 9-10 headlight bezels new 11-10 I want to disclose that the engine crankshaft front seal leaks engine oil on the garage floor (no substantial amount of oil is lost but it makes a mess that is easily wiped up with a paper towel.I've been meaning to replace the front seal but just haven't got to it. The engine doesn't use any oil between oil changes. There is a small wear mark in the drivers seat (shown) about the size of a quarter. There is a very small mark/marks in the vinyl of the rear seat in the middle (shown) so small the camera hardly picked it up.. Brakes are good but they do squeal at low speed and the petal pulsates sometimes, (never bothered me because the car stops great. passenger door lock doesn't work with the key, I just lock and unlock from inside not a problem. windshield was replaced about a year ago. There as wiring, cradle and antenna for Sirius satellite radio but you would need to get your own sportster SP-R2 receiver. I've seen them sold here on eBay for $15.00 with service. stereo is AM/FM/CD with Blaupunkt rear deck speakers and stock front dash speakers. About the WVO SVO conversion, It's a two tank system that works awesome! You start up on diesel and once the engine reaches operating temp. you can switch over to grease. The grease tank is heated and holds about 9 gallons of grease.(you can get about 200 miles of driving on grease) Before you shut the engine off you have to switch back to diesel to purge the lines of vegetable oil. It's really that simple. The tank is heated with anti freeze the wvo filter is electrically heated, the fuel lines are HIH (coolant heated) and there is a pre injection pump electric heater. Everything electrical on the wvo system has its own fuses, relays, wiring a side from the Mercedes factory electrical system gauge on the dash tells you temp of wvo. I routed the HIH fuel lines through the left side frame channel to keep them away from the moving components of the rear axle as to protect them. I've spent countless hours building and designing this and guarantee you will never see a better conversion out there anywhere! If you use the Buy Now I will include 40 gallons of filtered and watered oil and one extra wvo filter. This is a really cool 29 year old car that was way ahead of it's time with independent front&rear wheel suspension, 4 wheel disc brakes and a 4 speed automatic transmission. I could go on but if you have any questions,Trades/partial trades all things considered, give me a call Ed(815)482-5691 or Email me ruxton777@gmail.com Thanks, Good luck!
