Vehicle Detail

1963 Sunbeam Alpine GT Series III. GT has big back seat and 1963 models have big trunk due to dual gas tanks within the tailfins, "beecatcher" side windows, and 1963 is the last year for the nice backwards-sweeping fins. One of the best years for this car for sure. Original car, interior, motor, paint and 75K mileage. Has original hardtop. Car received most of it's mileage with 1st and 2nd owners in GA. Then spent time in storage in TN and AL, now in VA in storage. Only rust breakthrough is a spot in trunk floor and behind right rear wheel. See pics for both. Hardtop has typical rust along bottom channel and corners at back. It is hidden from sight and the piece is still structurally sound. Repair parts avail from Victoria British for the hardtop corners, or cut your own sheet metal since it is hidden from view it is that much easier to fabricate. I cannot link to my personel website here but send an email to i.babcock@comcast.net and I will give you the link to all the new parts and used parts that come with the car, listed below: New parts are: Caliper rebuild kit, master cylinder repair kit, slave cylinder repair kit, wheel cylinders- complete units (not kit), dist cap, points, rotor, semi-metallic brake pads, brake shoe set, wheel bearing set rear, generator, voltage regulator, hardtop vent windows, badge retainers, fuel pump repair kit (installed Sept 2010), window glass clips, fuse box cover (installed), thermostat gasket, thermostat (installed sept 2010) radiator hose bottom, radiator hose top (installed Sept 2010), door seals furflex, windshield post pillar set rubber, trunk hinge gaskets, door seal bottom and back, windshield glass seal, windshield frame seal, weatherstrip inner fuzzy, channel liner fuzzy, heater hose grommets, hose clamps worm, a-post trim, push on trunk seal, water pump bypass hose, heater hose, hardtop to body seal, side trim set, horizontal seal rubber, heater control grommet, timing chain and tensioner and blade (installed Sept 2010) , pertronix plug wire set (excellent super low resistance) and pertronix coil installed Sept 2010. Used parts: window crank mechanisms, windshield. car was driven around my block weekly until 2 years ago when carbs were removed for overhaul (done), but then I decided to go with a pair of new weber 34ICT's. Car starts and runs but carbs need dialing-in to run at idle speed. All electrics work but are slow and finicky. Have a repair manual book. Hood is not latched in photo, latch works but sometimes you have topull the handle 2-3 times to release so I've kept it unlatched until I could get around to tightening up the cable/linkage. 100.00 deposit due within 2 days of end of auction, car to be picked up within 2 weeks of end of auction. Car located in Locust Grove VA, if checking mapquest it is Orange County (west of Fredericksburg). Car can be shown while auction is running. This is a relisting with reserve lowered to below the previous ending price. Car is not ready for road travel-- needs carbs dialing in, water pump bolts are not torqued tightly because the long one was corroded and should probably to be replaced (found while doing the timing chain replacement last Fall), and for peace of mind I would recommend a brake overhaul using the components listed above that come with the car.
