1965 Ford Mustang 289 Fastback VIN# 5F09A335xxx Description: Beautiful White 1965 Classic Ford 289 Mustang Fastback from Mustang Beginnings You are bidding on a Classic 1965 Ford Mustang Fastback. This Mustang is very complete, and has its original 289 4bbl V-8 engine. The car deserves a complete restoration as "A" code fastbacks are getting harder and harder to find. With just a bit more work, this car will easily be worth double whatever it sells for now. BODY: The frame is solid. Floors need some work in the usual places. Please see the pictures showing the car from underneath. A tree branch fell on the drivers side so the roof and the drivers quarter will need some work, but any good body shop should be able to take care of everything needed. We can do the work for you at MustangBeginnings. Please give us a call to discuss what you would need us to do. A few of the chrome pieces should be replaced, but nothing more than some body work and paint are needed on the exterior of the car. DRIVE TRAIN: The original 289 Windsor 4bbl engine has been upgraded to a 302 from the previous owner. Engine looks rebuildable and should be rebuilt for dependable performance. A few Go Fast parts and this Mustang’s engine would deliver plenty of “under hood envy”. The car has a manual transmission, which shifts well, but it could use a new shifter handle. The Mustang has good disk brakes up front and drum brakes in the back, plus nice wheels, or you could make the car into a GT with just a few additional parts. Door glass and rear windshield are all good. INTERIOR: The interior will need to be restored. We can help you at MustangBeginnings if you need any assistance. We were planning to do that, but wanted to get the car advertised, and we just ran out of time. If you are planning to do the work yourself, we will give you our discount on all the materials you will need including new door panels, carpet, upholstery, head liner, radio, etc. Shows 76624 on the Odometer, likely the actual milage. GREAT PACKAGE: These Mustangs are only going to go up in price particularly if you spend a little time working on all the details. Good running, rust free, restored Mustang Fastbacks are very hard to find. The parts alone are worth $10,000 to $12,000. If you were starting from scratch, it would cost twice that amount to purchase the body, engine, transmission, etc. New 1965 Dynacorn fastback bodies are selling for $15,500 and you don't receive a 1965 title or any of the extras that this car has. We estimate that if you continue to work on the details, this Mustang would easily be worth a minimum of $40,000. If you add a few of your own ideas, when you are finished, you will truly have a unique classic Mustang.
