Vehicle Detail

Up for bid is a rare find a 1979 Honda 750k 10th Anniversary with only 7138 Actual miles. This motorcycle was purchased new in 32 years ago at Hayward Honda in Hayward California. The original exhaust was replaced with a 4 into one header just like the Super Sport and just one year later in 1980 when it was only a year old with just 7k miles it was sold and the new owner brought it inside and it was put on display in a time warp and stored as a museum piece. This is a very rare " Limited production Anniversary model" that was a 10 year tribute to one of the most distinctive motorcycles of all time the Honda CB750 4 cylinder.First year for Double overhead cams. This is a hardly used example of a Limited Edition model which was drained of its gas and stored in a climate controlled enviroment that has preserved it's originality to a still “In the Wrapper” condition. The original Candy Laguer paint is like new. This is a collectors item that can only go way up in value in the future. The original Honda 750's were a true classic that many people bought and owned with much enjoyment but most of them were used up and are long been traded away and very few original examples are still around. Few owners had the insight to keep an original 750-4 in original condition so now very few are still around and original 1969 750's are trading for as much as $15000. This bike was Hondas tribute to the original CB750 and is still in the wrapper and with out a doubt one of the finest examples any where in the world. It's not that this bike is clean. It's that it has never been dirty. It has been said many times with collectable items is “they are only original once”. This one is all original and in like new condition being offered for a very low reserve price as the owner can no longer keep this rare machine. This is better than money in the bank. Keep it and ride it or park it in your museum. This bike comes with the original California pink slip title with the original owners name signed off in September of 1980.This is a collector quality example that would be perfect for your classic motorcycle collection. It is as fresh and original as you will find down to the classic California Blue plate. This is an opportunity to go back in time and get a like new Honda classic sport bike which was the original sport bike, they are only original once and this one is as original as it was when it left the factory.Don't miss out on this opportunity to own a classic Honda 750-4 being offered for a very low reserve. The CB750K'79 Limited Edition was sold in 1979 and was available in one color scheme: Candy Muse Red with Red. The gas tank and side covers were 2-tone. The wheels were black comstar. There was a separate taillight assembly with the 1978 style lens. The "10th ANNIVERSARY CB750K" side cover emblem was gold and green. The engine was a 749cc DOHC 4-valve inline four cylinder linked to a 5-speed transmission. The serial number began RC01-3000006. The CB750 was a motorcycle built in several model series between 1969-2003 and in 2007 was recognized as a milestone for Honda's successful introduction of a transverse, overhead camshaft inline four cylinder engine that has since been the dominant sport bike configuration. . http://www.yourdiscovery.com/video/greatest-ever-motorcycles-honda-cb-750/ HistoryHonda of Japan introduced the CB750 motorcycle to the US and European markets in 1969 after experiencing success with their smaller motorcycles. The bike was targeted directly at the US market after Honda officials, including founder Soichiro Honda, repeatedly met with US dealers and understood the opportunity for a larger bike.Under development for a year, the CB750 offered two unprecedented features, a front disc brake and atransverse straight-4 engine with an overhead camshaft, neither of which was previously available on a mainstream, affordable production bike. These two features, along with the introductory price of US$1,495 (US$8,956 in current money), gave the CB750 a considerable advantage over its competition, particularly its British rivals.Cycle magazine called the CB750 "the most sophisticated production bike ever" upon its introduction. Cycle World called it a masterpiece, highlighting Honda's painstaking durability testing, the bike's 120 mph (190 km/h) top speed, the fade-free performance of the braking, the comfortable ride and excellent instrumentation. The CB750 was the first modern four-cylinder machine from a mainstream manufacturer, and the termsuperbike was coined to describe it. The bike offered other important features that added to its compelling value: electric starter, kill switch, dual mirrors, flashing turn signals, easily maintained valves and overall smoothness and freedom from vibration both underway and at a standstill; later models (1991 on) included maintenance-free hydraulic valves. On the other hand, the bike was difficult to get on its center stand and tended to throw chain oil onto its muffler.Unable to gauge demand for the new bike accurately, Honda limited its initial investment in the production dies for the CB750 by using a technique called permanent mold casting (often erroneously referred to as sandcasting) rather than diecasting for the engines– unsure of the bike's reception. The bike remained in the Honda lineup for ten years, with sales totaling over 400,000 in its life span.http://world.honda.com/history/challenge/1969cb750four/text/04.htmlIn 1976, a SuperSport version was introduced. It was primarily a styling exercise of the day, and featured a more streamline look, "4 into 1" exhaust, and Honda's answer to cast wheels. The CB750 is sometimes referred to as a Universal Japanese Motorcycle or UJM.[10][11] The Discovery Channel ranked the Honda CB750 third among the top ten greatest motorbikes of all ti http://www.yourdiscovery.com/video/greatest-ever-motorcycles-honda-cb-750/ Red The gas tank and side covers were 2-toneThe wheels were black comstarThere was a separate taillight assembly with the 1978 style lensThe "10th ANNIVERSARY CB750K" side cover emblem was gold and greenThe engine was a 749cc DOHC 4-valve inline four cylinder linked to a 5-speed transmissionThe serial number began RC01-3000006.as gold and greenThe engine was a 749cc DOHC 4-valve inline four cylinder linked to a 5-speed transmissionThe serial number began RC01-3000006It was available in one color scheme: Candy Muse Red with RedThe gas tank and side covers were 2-toneThe wheels were black comstarThere was a separate taillight assembly with the 1978 style lensThe "10th ANNIVERSARY CB750K" side cover emblem was gold and greenThe engine was a 749cc DOHC 4-valve inline four cylinder linked to a 5-speed transmissionThe serial number began RC01-3000006.. c="http://i1043.photobucket.com/albu 35.jpg"> ADDITIONAL INFORMATION, PLEASE READ BEFORE BIDDING Please only bid if you intend to buy.
