Vehicle Detail
OK Here we go. I did some trading for this car with the thought of keeping it. Now that I have had this 30's hot rod, I have come to realization that I am really a 50's car kind of guy. Already bought one so, no, I will not be looking for a trade of any kind. I need the room. Here is what I know about this great car. It started out as a completely rust free Texas car. No replacement panels anywhere. Still has original floors, firewall, and door bottoms. Top was professionally chopped 3 1/4" and filled. The side windows all work. Fronts are power and backs are crank. Running boards and grille are steel. Fenders, hood, and rear valance are fiberglass. Also comes with 2 new front fiberglass fenders. Never installed. The bumpers are new. Bear claw latches with Dakota Digital electric poppers. Hidden hinges. Body lines and door fit is about as perfect as any I have seen. Paint is just black primer. Not an expensive satin black paint job. Needs all weather stripping around doors and windows. Cut down windshield frame is included. INTERIOR WISE: The seats are from a mid 80s Chrysler Omni. There are door panels included but I consider them good for patterns. Carpeting is just OK for a driver. No rear seat or headliner. Does have emergency brake between the seats. Gages are Dolphins and they all work. Radio and power antenna work but are not hooked up at this time. Tilt column is out of a 1984 Ford LTD. Wiper works but no arm. Lokar shifter. There is no heat but it does have an A/C system. Compressor, condensor coil, and fan are installed. Under the dash evaporator / fan is there but not installed. Needs lines / wiring, controls, etc.. WIRING WISE: Has an ENOS custom components system. What is hooked up and working is as follows. Low beam on head lights, brake and tail lights, wiper, gages, door poppers, and ignition / charging systems. Wires for the following items need to be connected still. High beams, turn signals, neutral switch, horn, radio, antenna, license light. Wires are there and items are there. Window garnish mouldings are there. Some un-cut, and some cut. All need to be finished. FRAME AND SUSPENSION WISE: The frame was professionally boxed front front to back. Very clean job with no welds showing. Rear end is a 10 bolt Chevy Corporate with Chasis Engineering rear spring / shock set-up. Front is Mustang II Rack and pinion from Speedway Engineering. Whole suspension / frame is top notch. Brakes / wheel bolt pattern are all Chevy with disc up front and drum rears. Poly re-pro gas tank. Wheels are Smoothies with newer Coker wide white walls. Lots of Pete and Jakes parts also. ENGINE AND TRANNY WISE: Engine is a 1968 Chevy large journal, steel crank, truck 327. Edelbrock intake, carb, and valve covers. Crane cam. 9 &1/2 to 1 compression. Mallory uni-lite distributer. Trans is 1968 Chevy 350 Turbo. Both have less than 2500 miles on them. Fires right up with no issues. Now for what it needs. The 2 front inner bumper braces. Third brake light. Interior completed. Paint, ( or drive it like it is as an old school hot rod ). Weatherstripping. I would change out the front tires to a smaller size. They rub sometimes when entering / leaving driveways with steep grade changes. A must if the new, un-trimmed, front fenders are installed. Wiring completed. One rear side window is cracked. Now for the business end: CALL BEFORE BIDDING FOR HONEST ANSWERS. Dave 314-732-5925. Better yet, come by and check it out, or have someone do it for you. Car does not leave here until any and all funds clear my bank. This can take up to 10 business days. Bank wire transfers are great. No selling outside of the lower 48 States unless you clear it with me first. You arrange shipping. No delivery. No buy it now price. No trades. No giving out the reserve. Only bid what you are willing and able to pay. If you have less than a 98% feedback rating, or none, you better call first or I may cancel your bid. I think that about covers it. Call me for anything else I have not covered. Dave 314-732-5925 This is a great little hot rod, street rod, gasser, custom, cruiser, racer. How many of these have you seen that did not have patch panels? On Feb-08-11 at 09:48:43 PST, seller added the following information: OK, had a few calls already. Seems some clarifications are needed. Yes, the car runs and drives fine just the way it is. Hop in it and go. The body is factory original Detroit Ford steel with no patch panels. This is not a fiberglass bodied reproduction. Other items I forgot to mention:Extra front bumper comes with it. There is a "keyed" master battery disconnect switch mounted in the firewall, passenger side. ( see pics ) The air cleaner is vintage Cal Custom. The passenger side power window switch needs to be replaced. ( Actually, I'd replace both switches to something with a little more class ). The door glass has that film tinting on it. It can be removed. ( I would do this ) I do have a rear seat that may work. It goes with the car. This car can be driven as is, moderately changed, or be turned into a high dollar street rod with minimal effort. All of the hard work is done, and it was done right. Again, There is no buy it now price and I will not give out the reserve price. This car will stay on Ebay until the end of the auction. If it does not meet the reserve, you can send me your contact info or you can contact me before I re-list it. I will wait a week or two before re-listing it to see if anyone is serious and has the money. Remember, Only bid what you can afford to live with and not over it. Good Luck. Dave 314-732-5925On Feb-13-11 at 07:43:29 PST, seller added the following information: Please note: If you are located anywhere but in the lower 48 States, I will require a bank to bank wire transfer as payment. I will only accept the deposit by paypal. If you want to pay in full by paypal, you will have to pay all fees including mine, as this can get quite costly. Questions, call me at 314-732-5925 BEFORE BIDDING. Thanks, DaveOn Feb-14-11 at 15:59:19 PST, seller added the following information: Had a guy come by today and drive the old hot rod. The right front tire seemed to rub a little more often than I remembered. Not bad, but none the less it rubs at certain times when making left turns only. Left tire does not rub at all in either turning direction. Good news is the guy knew more than me about these old Fords ( not a hard achievement ) and recommended an easy fix for it. Problem, he pointed out, is that the front fender braces, which also support the headlights, are not bolted to the frame. The Mustang II upper A frames interfere with the original mounting holes of it. This lets the front fenders drop ever so lightly while still looking perfectly level. Outlaw Performance has new front braces and adapter brackets for IFS on 34 Fords that takes care of this problem. Parts #'s SR-VT-47 and SR-VT-595. All four pieces for $130.00. Their phone number is 800-763-3334. Of course, my earlier recommendation of switching to a smaller tire from the current too tall 205 / 75 tires will also work. Just another option worth mentioning. ------- P.S. It took a lot of will power not to accept his offer to end the listing early. I stated in my listing that the car will stay on Ebay until the end of the auction, and it will. No exceptions. Good luck. Thanks, Dave
