Vehicle Detail
Available is a rare find, a 1959 Chevrolet Apache 3/4 ton pickup with the very rare Napco 4x4 conversion. It was originally ordered by the US Government Fish and Wildlife Service, Bureau of Sport Fisheries. I have the metal dash plate from the government they put on all vehicles. I also have a copy of the title where it was sold to a private owner in 1969. It's wearing 1991 Colorado tags. This truck is sold with clear title. I also have some old registrations as well. This unrestored truck has just the right amount of patina and and should be kept that way. It's sporting an old NRA sticker, gun rack, and original Fish and Wildlife markings on the doors. The paint is all original, as is the interior. I had the original seat recovered, all the glass is good, the push button starter works good, and it is radio delete. The headlights are possibly original, they are the T3's and all 4 still work! This is definately one of a kind truck! The Northwestern Auto Parts Company (NAPCO) did the 4x4 conversions for Chevrolet starting in 1955. All the NAPCO drive train includingthe divorced transfer case is matching numbers and in working condition, and is still showing it's original Blue paint. Warn hubs work freely. This truck sits tall, and gets a lot of attention. Napco vehicles are very rare and a popular with collectors, alot of them are 1/2 tons and this is a stout 3/4 ton. Check out their website online. If this old truck could talk. The body has it's fair share of scratches and dents, but it is remarkably solid. The frame is in great shape. There is no filler anywhere. The floors are really nice, all the glass is good, the doors close solid, the rims are 17", and it comes with a fifth rim. Three are one piece, and two are are split rims. The truck runs drives and stops. The tranny and clutch work as they should. The front left wheel cylinder is leaking, and the brakes need to be pumped for it to stop. The front end wobbles at speeds over 30 mph. That can be fixed by rebuilding the king pins. After looking up the engine number, I learned it is a 350 from a 1970 pickup, it still has the original 1959 generator. The engine starts and runs good, no smoke, and very little if any lifter niose. It has a rebuilt carb, new coil, distributor, plugs, wires, battery, ceramic ballast, fuel pump, and newer gas tank. Thats about all I can tell you about her. This is a rare opportunity to own a one of a kind pickup. Please ask questions before you bid. All questions will be answered. This truck is sold as is with no warranty. A $500 non refundable deposit is required within 24 hours of the auctions close. I have a very reasonable transport company that can help with shipping. I had it shipped from Colorado to Tennessee for $650.00. Thanks. I reserve the right to end the auction early because I'll be offering it locally. I have more pictures as well, let me know if you want a certain angle.
