Vehicle Detail

This is one of the final 750 Bonnevilles to be manufactured - a 1982 model, T140ES (electric start). In late 2010, I started what was going to be a full mechanical and cosmetic restoration - it was stripped down to the crankshaft by the end of December. However, in mid January of this year, due to unforeseen personal circumstances, this project has been halted and it will be sold as is. Some background info: This bike was a clean rider in good condition overall - no funny noises, etc - but it smoked out of the exhaust. What started out as a top end job, turned into a restoration project with the idea of making it look and ride like new again. The "bad" : - it was smoking, recommend a rebore and valve job/ recommend a new wiring harness (rough)/recommend tires/ broken fin on front of cylinder (hard to see when the exhaust pipes are on)/ several small 'dings' in the mufflers/ it's down to the crankshaft - will need complete assembly! The "good" : - very nice paint on the fuel tank and sidecovers, repainted to original "smoked" Misty Red (kind of a Salmon/light red) - couple of small chips on the front edge beside the steering neck / stock Morris mags / belt drive primary / Norman Hyde oil cooler / stainless brake lines / electric starter (works great) / cosmetics not perfect, but nice condition / brakes work / comes with workshop and parts manuals / clear Oregon title / it's all there and organized. The "Classic Bike Guide" magazine picture is what it will look like when assembled. I am located in Maple Falls, Wa. - I will require a $500.00 deposit within 24 hours of auction ending and balance to be paid in full (cash)/ motorcycle picked up within 7 days of auction ending. If you are in my area and want to see it, email me and we'll set it up. Please contact me if you are interested in bidding and have zero or negative feedback! The final 5 pictures are of the motorcycle just before disassembly (12/2010) - the sidecovers have been removed / the oil cooler is on the front downtubes / stock Amal Mk 2 carbs / the turn signals are not stock, but the stock set goes with the bike. This motorcycle could be re-assembled without restoring it and it would make a very nice rider, keeping in mind the recommendations. As mentioned, the electric starter works great, but it also retains the manual kickstarter for the purists. Thankyou Add ons - This Triumph has a Boyer electronic ignition and a good battery. As for the initial deposit, $500.00 to be made by "Paypal" -- thanksOn Jan-31-11 at 13:48:29 PST, seller added the following information: please note: unlike a rolling motorcycle, this is not an item that I am prepared to ship - therefore the winning bidder must be prepared to pick up from Maple Falls, Wa. I am located about 100 miles, Northeast of Seattle - please bid accordingly, thankyouOn Feb-05-11 at 16:45:22 PST, seller added the following information: note: I was sitting the crankshaft in between the crankcases today, so as to condense it a bit - noticed some wear marks on the D/S roller main - I would have to recommend replacing the roller mains upon assembly. Most people would do this anyway, as standard practice - I do. thanks
