Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE 1979 Jeep CJ-7 (360 V8, TH400 Automatic, 4x4, Lifted) For your consideration I have a mostly stock '79 Jeep CJ7. It originally had an AMC 304 V8 but has been replaced with an AMC 360 V8. Otherwise, everything seems to be original (just modified or rebuilt). As the VIN translates to, it has a TH400 (which is their 'heavy duty' unit unlike Jeeps after 1980), Borg Warner Quatra-Trac (full-time 4 wheel drive), Front Dana 30 Axle and Rear AMC 20 Axle. A well done spring-over conversion gives it about 6" of lift while being perfectly drivable at highway speeds and suitable for off-road use. The bed-lined exterior has seen better days but I figured you can save some money and have it painted the exact way you want it. A couple issues are that the floor has a rust spot behind the seats on both sides, other than the speedometer the gauges haven't been hooked up to the new engine, the rear brakes need to be done & I noticed a section of the floor has been cut probably to access the fuel tank sending unit wiring. While I don't think it needs power steering and have never used it, you would need a belt and hose is you want to use it.
