Vehicle Detail

First, a little bit of history. The Italian company "ISOTHERMOS' were manufacturers of refrigerated truck bodies after World War 2 and patented the "Thermos flask". In the late forties they produced many small motorcycles and scooters of excellent quality. In 1954 they introduced the "Gran Turismo" model with 14 inch wheel instead of the 12 inch wheels on the earlier "Iso moto" and "Iso scooter". In 1954 they designed a small bubble car called the ISETTA ("little Iso"). This microcar had a 236cc ISO engine. They sold the manufacturing rights to BMW who eventually produced about 160,000 Isettas! The German model had a 250cc R25 motorcycle engine and later a 300cc version. The Isetta car was also made under license in Britain, France, Spain, Belgium and Brasil. The royalties paid by BMW helped the ISO company financially and they went on to design the Iso Rivolta, Iso Grifo, Iso Fidia and Iso Lele (all great cars!). This motorcycle I am offering for sale is an older restoration still in fine shape. Not concours but still very presentable. This is a rare model with it's original Italian title with ownership history plus a CLEAR CALIFORNIA TITLE in my name. This interesting bike has been part of my extensive collection of classic Italian motorcycles in Los Angeles. I am down-sizing the collection and hope this bike goes to an ISO car collector or Italian bike aficionado. Complete, correct and in good running condition 125cc 2 stroke. Twin piston with one combustion chamber (like the Puch motorcycle). Commonly referred to as a "Twingle"! 2 pistons, 2 cylinders, one long con rod and one short one. One combustion chamber. I have put a fair reserve price. Those of you that collect and restore classic bikes will know the cost of restoration. Speedo reads 40,723 kms. You are welcome to visit in Tarzana (San Fernando Valley part of Los Angeles). Please call 818 705 8655. Can crate and ship to most major US cities for approx $300 depending on distance.
