Vehicle Detail
This is a GENUINE HONDA 1970 Honda Dax 70, much like the CT70 or "Trail 70" commonly seen in the U.S., but much more rare. It starts easily and runs well, and is in very original condition. It still has the original key. The rare Dax includes these unusual features: -A tiny crank on the steering stem that allows the entire fork to be removed quickly for ultra compact storage and transport. As with the standard CT70, the handlebars fold down with the fork attached for the same purpose. The little Dax fits easily in a small car! -There's a little grab handle on the right side of the machine below the front of the seat to make it easy to lift the Dax into a car or out of a tough spot on the trail. -The Dax has a slightly lower front fender than the standard CT70 which offers better splash protection. The fender also has a factory painted white stripe on the front edge. It may be reflective for more visibility on the road. -The transmission has an automatic clutch, like most CT70's, which means you don't have to worry about stalling, but the Dax also has a different shift pattern for its three speeds. -The muffler is slightly different than the CT70's but is just as quiet. -The Dax has different emblems with Japanese writing rather than the "Trail 70" emblems CT70's have. The Dax is named after the daschund dog because of its similarly long body--seriously. This bike is a genuine vintage Honda, not some cheap knock-off, and it would be a great addition to any Honda Mini Trail collection or a fun, unusual machine to motor around town, trails, or campsites on on. It has new original-type tires and can be liscenced for road use. This bike is in unrestored original condition and isn't perfect, though it starts easily and runs well. You should know: -The original red paint is somewhat faded. -The headlight bucket is cracked. -The front fender is scuffed and the bike has some other scratches from use. -The airbox is missing but I don't ride the machine without an air filter. It spends most of its time as a static display in my shop with the carb covered, though I start it regularly to keep it in good running condition. The airbox and headlight bucket are the same as the CT70's and are easy to find on Ebay. -I have no paperwork for the bike but I am the owner and the VIN is clear. I will gladly provide a bill of sale for the bike. I will ship the bike but the buyer pays all shipping costs. Payment by cash or Paypal only. This bike is sold as is. No returns. Please don't bid unless you can pay for the bike. Thanks for looking.
