Vehicle Detail
This is an original 318 car, I am listing this car for my brother but know it intimately. This car is a VERY solid car, could use paint, interior is clean has the vinyl factory floor option. The body is very straight ,there is a small amount of rust in the rear Rockers and the drivers side floor pan has a crack at the bolt holes for the driver seat that should be welded up before it gets out of hand. This car has not been thrashed , it was a weekend toy that has had less than 500 miles put on it in the 5 years he has owned it. Everything was new 500 miles ago, it has been to the track at Las Vegas Motor Speedway three times and has less than 20 passes on the Motor. The car went in the high 12 second ET with a 104 MPH. It is VERY consistent, made it to the Finals in Trophy Class at the PSCA Vegas. With some paint and Carpet this would look as good as it goes! Motor is VERY strong and tight, same for tranny. My brother just doesnt get a chance to take it out anymore so he wants it gone, if I didnt already have two Dusters I would buy this one. There was no expense spared on the drivetrain/ exhaust , etc.. when it was built. Here are the details: 340 .030 over Keith Black 10 to 1 Forged pistons W2 Hughes stage 1 heads,SS valves 2.02 int,1.625 exhaust,Engle springs and chrome moly push rods. Engle cam HE3038al, duration at .050 230/237-lift .515/.535-110 High volume Mellings oil pump and pan. Stock forged crank and rods with ARP bolts. M1 single plane intake manifold. All engine work was done by Hughes Engines in Washington, Il. Carb is a Barry Grant Gold Claw 675 cfm. Crane roller rockers 1.6 ratio w/chrome rocker arm shafts. MSD 6AL control box with a MSD Distributor/Coil and MSD 3 step and 8mm MSD wires. Meziere 12 volt water pump. Griffin Nascar radiator. 727 tranny with a 3000 stall and B&M flex plate. Cheetah Turbo Action Shifter TTI coated step headers with new 2 1/2 in.pipe that goes into an H pipe than into Flowmasters to the rear. 8 3/4 Sure Grip rearend with 430 Richmond gears and Moser axles w/new bearings and seals. 12 volt Sho Gun tictok fans. Gonza aluminum catch can. brand new Optima battery. wheels are Weld Drag Lites, fronts are 3.5x15 rears 10x15, Tires are Moroso front Runners and BF Goodrich Drag Radials 775/60/R15 and are in good shape with good tread remaining. Disc brakes front and Drums rear. This has a very reasonable reserve, alot of car for the price. Payment is due within 7 days of the end of the auction, a $500 non refundable deposit within two business days is required. On Jan-21-11 at 19:29:36 PST, seller added the following information: This car is completely street legal, everything works. It will run on Premium 91.It also has a 12 Gallon fuel cell with a Holley HP Electric pump. I will be adding more pics of the suspension and undercarriage/trunk tomorrow. On Jan-22-11 at 07:57:57 PST, seller added the following information: The front tires are Mickey Thompsons not Moroso and the rear size is 275/60/R15, TYPO:)On Jan-23-11 at 07:36:21 PST, seller added the following information: This is a CLONE......Ok everyone, I didnt realize 318 dusters were so valuable. I thought this was an original 318 car but perhaps its a slant six car. As I have stated that it is not the original engine in the car it obviously is a CLONE! Does it really matter? The entire front K frame and suspension and drivetrain came off of a 340 donor car. This is what it is, a low reserve for a lot of car! The rust in the Rocker panel is only on the driver side and it coming from a small area in the floor pan behind the drivers seat about 4" x 4". Try to build this car without at best doubling the reserve. On Jan-25-11 at 13:35:43 PST, seller added the following information: Ok, I have been informed it has drum brakes in the front , sorry. But they work just fine I can attest to that.On Jan-27-11 at 13:08:23 PST, seller added the following information: I asked my brother to pull the valve covers to confirm the head type, he thought he saw a AAW2, it was actually a J. The casting numbers are 3418915, 1970 2.02 340 heads with the Hughes Stage 1 porting job. Not W2.
