Vehicle Detail
Up for bid is a rare find a 1973 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray with a factory close ratio Muncie 4 speed manual transmission finished in Mille Miglia Red #976 with Dark Saddle interior. This is an original California car that has been stored for years. This very rare car would be an ideal collector car as 1973 was the last year with chrome bumpers. It has the optional “L82 “ higher performance 350 4 barrel with a close ratio M21 Muncie 4 speed . This car was recently acquired from a Northern California estate and its history is that of a very special car that was the pride and joy of the original owner who kept it under wraps for the future but sadly was never able to really enjoy it and it was used very little. The second owner acquired it and had a similar attachment and also kept the vehicle off the road in much the same manner as the original owner. It was looked at as a valuable asset that will only go up in value in the coming years, a blue chip investment that was to be kept forever but in actuality was not much more than a conversation piece. He knew what he had but never really got to use it. From the lack of use certain items mainly fuel related needed to be replaced and over the years this was done. The car and manifold as well as all of the fuel system from the fuel tank to all of the fuel lines. It is a very solid example of a rare optioned Vette but will need some attention to be perfect. What I can tell you is what I was told. The base engine is all original with low miles but has several upgrades that have had very little use. The manifold is a high performance Edlebrock with a new Holley, it has a new high performance distributor, new altenator, headers, dual flow masters, new air cleaner new valve covers, other wise it is all stock. This is a 38 year old car that has been used very little. The parts that were replaced were wear items or fuel related that needed to be replaced from lack of use and have been upgraded with high performance upgrades. The interior is all original and un restored . The seats are very nice with the original material that it left the St Louis factory with nearly 40 years ago, the door panels show some age wear on the arm rest material and are all original, The carpet is original and the area around the pedals shows very little use but the section near the seat shows some age wear, all in all not bad considering it is nearly 40 years old. This is an opportunity to buy a unique optioned vehicle being offered for a very low reserve ! This is not just another Corvette! But an under valued collector car that should not be overlooked as a opportunity for the investor. Many feel the 1973 Stingray's were was the last of the classic C3 Marko Shark Corvettes. * Original California car with Clean California title. *Matching numbers block and transmission * Last year for Chrome bumpers * L82 High performance 350 option* Factory 4 speed This 1973 4 speed Corvette is an ideal collector car that will only go up in value in the coming years. It is a running and driving car was just painted #976 PPG Mille Miglia red with Dark Saddle This California native is a factory 4 speed car and a very collectable classic. The 1973 Stingray was the last year the rear chrome bumpers for the classic Marko shark styling which begain in 1968. Don't miss out on this opportunity to own an original unrestored 4 speed classic Vette with very low miles. The car has always been a California car and has a clean California title. Here is some additional information I dug up:The 1973 Corvette The 1973 Chevrolet Corvette was the first "Rubber Bumper" Vette. The front chrome bumper was replaced with a federally mandated 5 MPH bumper. It added 35 pounds to the car and changed it's looks significantly. This is the only year that a rubber front bumper and chrome rear bumper were used at the same time. A new side brace was added as well to increase safety. This was also the last year for the small spoiler at the back of the car. During production of the 1973 model year 4,000 serial numbers were skipped. VIN numbers 24,001 through 28,000 were never manufactured. A new hood was introduced that featured cold air induction and removed the automatic panel that hid the windshield wipers. A vent in the hood by the windshield wipers provided cold outside air for the engine to injest. The new ducts on the sides behind the front wheels were non-trimmed and consist of just one large hole and some body styling. It was the first year for radial tires on a Vette. Increased sound insulation was added to make the ride more comfortable. A new coolant recycling system recovered overheated coolant into a overflow container for cooling. This coolant was then recycled back into the radiator. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION, PLEASE READ BEFORE BIDDING Please only bid if you intend to buy.
