Vehicle Detail
Up for auction is a 1972 Suzuki GT 750 Lemans. I bought this bike with the intention of using the front end and brake on another project I have. I've changed my mind and have decided to put this one up for sale. Although this bike looks pretty crusty it is still worthy of a restoration. The paint may be worth saving, although there are some spots that will probably need refinishing. All of the chrome is pitted to some degree. The sidecovers are in good shape with no cracks. The fuel tank will definitely need cleaned and sealed on the inside. I do not see any rust through. The exhaust appears to be sound also with no rust through that I can detect, although there is some battery staining on the right side. The seat looks and feals great with the original graphics and the pan just has surface rust. This motorcycle DOES NOT RUN. There is no battery in it. I have not attempted to start it. It does turn over and has what feels like good compression. The clutch handle has been bent. The clutch does work and the transmission goes in and out of gear. The only missing parts I see are the mirrors and two of the rear cones on the exhaust. As you can see in the pictures the odometer reads 11, 571 miles. The title has a mileage discrepancy. It reads 13,750. I don't know the reason for that. The Ohio title is in my name and is free of any marks or liens. This Suzuki was produced in March of 72' the vin is 25127. The last time it was registered was 1983. I will start the bidding at $500. Don't ask for a buy it know price because there is none. I intend to let the auction run for seven days, although I do reserve the right to end the auction at any time. The winning bidder will deposit $200 in my paypal account within 2 days of the auction end, with the balance to be paid in cash upon pickup of the bike. I will not ship this motorcycle but I will assist in loading. The bike is located 2 miles from I 275 on the east side of Cincinnati just across the Ohio River. The zip code is 45230. As you can see I have 100% positive feedback because I am as truthful as possible in my descrptions. I reserve the right to cancel the bids of those with bad or zero feedback. If you have any questions or doubts please email me and I will answer them as best I can. Thanks and good luck!On Jan-17-11 at 09:59:12 PST, seller added the following information: I stated earlier that the clutch lever was bent when in fact it is the brake lever that is bent not the clutch. Sorry for any confusion. Commando74 On Jan-21-11 at 09:44:19 PST, seller added the following information: I have added some additional photos as requested. What looks like rust through on the lower left muffler is actually a grease buildup. Some bidders have asked if the balance of payment can be fowarded through Paypal. That is fine with me so long as the winning bidder is willing to pay Paypal fees associated with the balance. I can store the bike for an indefinite amount of time so that any shipping and pickup arrangments can be made. Thanks to all who have expressed interest and emailed me with their questions.
