I had to relist the vehicle Due to a scammer hitting the buy it now ,,I apologize to all the people who placed bids Up for auction is this one owner 1979 Pontiac Firebird Formula ,in Nocturne Blue and silver two tone . Vehicle was special ordered buy original owner (not bought out of dealer stock) on March 27 1979 and was delivered by Sifford Pontiac of Bogota New Jersey on May 29 1979 ,at a total cost of $7248.45 . This car comes with a ton of documentation which includes the original New Jersey Title , the original dealer order form , dealer delivery sheet/invoice and the vehicle pre delivery inspection report.Warranty papers and of course owners manual . I have not removed the back seat to look for the vehicle build sheet but I am sure it is there. There are even a few photos of the car when it was new taken by the owner . Vehicle equipment . Engine ; 301/4.9 Pontiac V8 with 2bbl carburator Transmission ; Hydromatic 350 automatic Rear axel ; 3:08 open differential Exhaust ; single catalyst , single outlet Radio; radio delete option Color : Nocturne blue over silver with Formula appearance pkg with rear spoiler . wipers ; intermittent delay variable speed Glass; tinted moldings ; Roof drip rails, blacked out window reveal , color keyed body side protection . Interior ; Black vinyl buckets with center console Standard equipment. Formula steering wheel, engine turned dash overlay . Wheel ; 15X7 ralley II wheels with trim rings and raised white letter 225/70/15 radial tires. misc ; power steering , power brakes , Air conditioning . compact inflatable spare ,(jack + spare + inflation bottle are in new condition and have never been used) all jack and spare equipment are present , no trunk mat . Condition ; this car was excellently maintained by the original owner . The engine performs flawlessly and runs quiet with no smoke ,compression leak down check performed shows cylinder average to have a 90% seal . compression is consistent across all cylinders The trans shifts well , goes right into gear and is quiet with no fluid leaks . Rear end operation is also quiet and also has no leaks . the electrical system functions fine and charges well , there is a new battery and recent Alt . Radiator is clean and hold 16 psi , the heater core has been replaced . all the belts and hoses are in good condition . Body ; Rust , the only rust found on the body is the very bottom of the right front fender , the area around the rust is clean with no signs of further corosion , it is a mystery to me why this fender has rust when the rest of the car is so clean . Damage , as you can see from the picture the left rear quarter panel was hit (I was told a mini van had hit it in a parking lot and she never had it fixed ) the damage to the panel is deep the hit was very near the bottom and so the panel buckeled below trunk floor level , the is also a small amount of damage to the dog leg ahead of the tire and a small crease in the door . This panel could be pulled and straighten but would take time and patience to do right . The passenger door also has a palm sized dent on the belt line just under the mirror. The floors are perfect with no rust as is the trunk floor . All the inside edges of the doors , trunk lid, and hood are clean and rust free . The area behind the rear bumper is clean and solid with no rust. Under the hood is all stock and is totally complete with all components in place including the catalytic converter . The radiator support is also clean and not rusted yes even around the battery . The bumper covers are good , the front lower grills are dried out (this is typical ) they do make them reproduction . Interior ; Dash , The dash pad is perfect , no cracks or discolorations . the console is also nice and clean , the carpet is the original and is not faded or worn through . the door panels are nice but were cut when the car was new for radio speaker installation ,remember the car was ordered with out a radio because she wanted a top line aftermarket radio instead . the dash was not cut . The driver seat needs to have the seat cover replaced (worn on the bolster) the passenger seat and rear seats are all nice . It dose need new head liner material installed on the hard board . the rear shelf needs a new cardboard package tray All the plastic is good shape with little to no fade on the sun exposed surfaces . This is a fully operational automobile , can be driven with out a problem ,it was mechanically well maintained and serviced , it was garaged for most of it's life . with the exception of the collision damage this would be a low effort restoration for a fraction of the cost to repair the typical basket case cares that are out there .
