Vehicle Detail
For sale is a 1967 Ford Custom 2 Dr Post (Galaxie) Police Chase car from South Carolina where it was probably used to chase moonshiners..It comes WITHOUT motor and transmission. It came out originally with a 428 Police Interceptor Motor and C6 Auto Transmission. When I bought it it had a 429 Cobra Jet/Police Intercptor Motor with the Heavy Duty Cast Iron Tail Shaft C6.THE MOTOR AND TRANSMISSION WILL BE SOLD SEPERATELY WHEN I GET THEM OUT OF THE MACHINE SHOP WHERE THEY ARE BEING CHECKED FOR CRACKS AND TOLERANCES.I will be listing these parts this week. The body is in very nice, restorable condition. It will need full floors (the sheet metal under the back seat is very good). It has a small rust spot at the bottom of the left 1/4 and at the bottom of the right door.As you can see in the pictures there is a small dent on the right and left 1/4s.Deck lid has some rust spots under the lip.Trunk floor is very good,2 very small pin hole rust spots on the left side..Hood is good, needs a little dent repair at the right edge/lip.Needs hood hinges.Grille is very good.Fenders and inner fenders are very good..Frmae is very good,no rust or damage of any kind.Left 1/4 has a hole in the top where the cop antennae used to be and the roof has some small holes that have been patched where the police light used to be.The switch for the light is still there. The front seat needs good tracks. Most of the glass and all of the trim is in very good condition.Comes with the original jack, drive shaft and transmission cross member which I have heard is a rare piece, not sure if it is for the High Performance C6 or the PI C6. Options are;428 PI Car .Power Disc Brakes (Kelsey Hayes 4 Piston Caliper).A/C. 9 3/8" Rear End.Part #:Tag;WDT-F1-2.80-7EE215.Cast #s;C7AW Date-6M12 . Dual Exhaust. Bench Seat Column Shift Car. Option/VIN Door Tag reads;62E-OE-1OU-220560-6-U Delivery otpions are available at a reasonable price to the East and North East Coast.I have cars and parts out there I have to bring back here so I can deliver the car for a low cost. Please email me for quotes. For international bidders I can deliver car to the port of Houston for Europe or for Australia or New Zealand I can load it in a container I have that is going to Melbourne,Australia. Please email me or call Dave @ 918 809 4569 for quotes. This car is being sold as is for a restoration project.I have tried to include all relevent details about the car in the add.If more pictures or info is required please email or call me.Thanks for looking. Bidders with less than 5 positive feedback mus contact me first before bidding or they will be blocked and their bids cancelled.Sorry I have to do this but most ebayers out there understand why this is neccesary. On Jan-10-11 at 08:20:17 PST, seller added the following information: Since I`ve had this car I have talked to the owners of the only 2 Highway Patrol Cars like this known to exist. One guy told me there were aproximately 850 total production, the other owner told me there were only 2 known to exist.I also have to correct something in the add. This was aparently not a "Chase Car" but a Highway Patrol Car.They built a Captains Car,Chase Car and HP Cars. The other 2 cars known to exist do not have Power Disc Brakes. In the later part of 1967 they went to a 4 door model, disscontinued the 2 dr post. The owner of the Tennessee Highway Patrol car sent me before and after pictures of his,a beautiful car.If anyone has pics of an original South Carolina HP car I`d apreciate the info on where to find it.Thanks to Randy for his help.
