THIS AUCTION IS FOR A REAL DEAL 60'S KUSTOMIZED 1957 FORD FAIRLANE 500 FOR ALL OF YOU THAT FOLLOWED THIS CAR WHEN IT WAS IN CANADA IM THE ONE THAT TOOK THE JUMP AND SPENT THE PENNIES AWAY FROM $3000 TO GET IT HERE! BEFORE I GIVE EVERYBODY THE HISTORY AGAIN I WILL FILL YOU IN ON HOW MUCH MORE MONEY I HAVE SPENT ON THE CAR. I'VE TRIED TO REMEMBER TO SAVE THE RECEIPTS FOR THE BIGGER DOLLAR ITEMS. I SPENT $720 TO DO BRAKE SHOES AT ALL FOUR CORNERS AS WELL AS BRAND NEW WHEEL CYLINDERS AT ALL FOUR CORNERS. I BOUGHT A $200 AUTOLOC REMOTE POPPING SYSTEM FOR THE DOORS AND TRUNK. LABOR ON THE CUSTOM INSTALLATION WAS $800. I HAVE A RECEIPT FOR THAT. PLUS I GAVE HIM AN EXTRA $100 TO PUT SOUND DEADENING MATERIAL IN THE FRONT DOORS. MY PLANS WERE TO DO IT THROUGHOUT THE WHOLE CAR. I SPENT NEARLY $300 WITH DENNIS CARPENTER BUYING BRAND NEW MARKER LAMP COVERS FOR THE FRONT, AND THE CORRECT 500 TAIL LENSES WITH THE CLEAR GLASS CENTER BACK UP LIGHT AND STAINLESS TRIM PLUS ALL GASKETS. AMONGST OTHER SMALL ITEMS FROM THEM FOR THE CAR. ALL INCLUDED! BRAND NEW SET OF ALUMINUM MANIFOLD GASKETS AND A BRAND NEW POWER MASTER STARTER FOR THE 390. I ALSO PURCHASED AT THE MOULTRIE GEORGIA SWAP MEET AN ORIGINAL FULL MANUAL FOR THE CAR THAT IS ALMOST LIKE BRAND NEW PLUS I HAVE A SMALL MULTI PAGE WIRING DIAGRAM FOR THE CAR THAT I BOUGHT BEFORE I BOUGHT THE FULL MANUAL. BOTH INCLUDED WITH THE CAR. SO YOU CAN SEE ON TOP OF BUYING THE CAR AND GETTING IT HERE INTO THE STATES ALOT MORE HAS BEEN SPENT AS WELL. NEW PARTS THAT ARENT INSTALLED YET ARE PICTURED. WOW THIS CAR IS SOLID!!!!!!! NOW AS THE STORY GOES- WHEN I BOUGHT THE CAR.... THE CAR WAS BOUGHT FROM THE ORIGINAL OWNER IN ARIZONA IN 1961. HE USED IT FOR HIGH SCHOOL TRANSPORTATION UNTIL GRADUATION IN 1962. THATS WHEN HE BUILT IT INTO THE KUSTOM YOU SEE HERE. WITH THE PERIOD OF LED SLEDS EVOLVING INTO FULL BLOWN RADICAL KUSTOMS, THE OWNER FOCUSED ON SUBTLE CHANGES TO KUSTOMIZE HIS CAR. ON THE REAR OF THE CAR THE APRON AND BUMPER WERE REMOVED AND A FULL STEEL ROLL PAN WAS METAL WORKED INTO THE REAR. NO BONDO OR FIBERGLASS WAS USED THIS IS THE REAL DEAL! THE REAR TRIM AND HANDLE WAS SHAVED TO COMPLETE THE CLEAN AND SMOOTH LOOK. QUAD EXHAUST WAS INSTALLED FOR UNIQUE STYLING. JUST A SMALL PINSTRIPE HIGHLIGHTS THE BOTTOM OF THE DECKLID. THE DOOR HANDLES WERE SHAVED. THE HEADLIGHTS WERE REMOVED AND FRENCHED AND HIGHLIGHTED BY 1956 F100 CHROME TRIM RINGS FOR THE KUSTOM LOOK IN THE FRONT. TO COMPLETE THE SMOOTH LOOK OF THE FRONT END OF THE BODY- THE FRONT APRON AND BUMPER WERE REPLACED WITH A KUSTOM BUMPER THAT SETS FARTHER BACK AND SMOOTHS THE FRONT OUT VERY WELL. THE STOCK GRILL WAS RETAINED AND IS IN EXCELLENT CONDITION. NOW ITS TIME FOR THE KUSTOM PAINT TO BE LAID DOWN- IT IS 2 TONED. THE ROOF AND BELOW THE TRIM LINE BEING WHAT LOOKS LIKE PROCESS BLUE AND IN BETWEEN IS WHITE WITH SCALLOPS THAT STRETCH FAR BACK INTO THE DOOR AND LOOKS AWESOME. THIS OWNER HAD INSTALLED DUMMY SPOT LIGHTS. WHEN I RECEIVED THE CAR TO KEEP WITH THE 60'S KUSTOM LOOK THE CAR WAS MISSING ALL THE PINSTRIPING ON THE INSIDE. SO ALL THE PINSTRIPPING YOU SEE ON THE INSIDE IS ALL FRESH AND LOOKS VERY COOL! PLUS THE SAYING ON THE REAR ROLL PAN. THAT WAS ANOTHER $300 THAT I SPENT INTO THE CAR AFTER RECEIVING IT. SORRY I'M LISTING ALL THESE MONEY VALUES ON THINGS I JUST WANT YOU TO GET AN IDEA OF HOW MUCH $ HAS BEEN PUT INTO THIS CAR JUST RECENTLY. I AM A REASONABLE MAN TO DEAL WITH. THE ONLY REASON THIS CAR IS BEING SOLD IS I FOUND MY DREAM CAR AND SEVERAL OF MY CARS ARE GOING. THIS CAR IS A REAL HEAD TURNER AND WOULDNT LEAVE MY DRIVEWAY ACCEPT FOR THE CIRCUMSTANCES. NOW BACK TO THE CAR- IT WAS SAID AROUND 1970 HE REPLACED THE ORIGINAL 312 WITH A '67 FAIRLANE 390. THE ORIGINAL CUSTOMIZER KEPT THE CAR ON THE ROAD UNTIL 1998 WHEN HIS INTERESTS CHANGED. HE PARKED THE CAR IN 2002. HE THEN SOLD THE CAR TO A RETIRED KUSTOMIZER IN COLORADO. THE RETIRED KUSTOMIZER REMOVED IT FROM ITS HOME IN ARIZONA AND BROUGHT IT TO COLORADO. AFTER 41 YEARS THE ORIGINAL KUSTOM PAINT HAD FAIDED BADLY AND THE CAR HAD SUSTAINED THE USUAL PARKING LOT DINGS AND SCRATCHES. HE TOOK THE CAR DOWN TO BARE METAL STRAIGHTENING EVERYTHING OUT AND REMEMBER THIS CAR SPENT ITS LIFE IN ARIZONA SO THERE WAS NO RUST TO FIX. HE REMOVED THE DUMMY SPOT LIGHTS, AND THE LAKE PIPES THAT WERE ON THE CAR FOR OVER 40YEARS. HE REDID THE PAINT AS IT ORIGINALLY WAS THE SAME PAINT SCHEME WITH THE SCALLOPS AND BLUE AND WHITE TWO TONED AND HE ADDED THE 390 EAGLES AFTER THE PAINT WAS FINISHED. HE DRIVE THE CAR FOR A COUPLE YEARS BUT NEVER GOT EXCITED ABOUT DOING ANYTHING FURTHER WITH IT. HE PARKED IT IN HIS GARAGE AND IT SAT UNDER A CAR COVER IN 2006. IT WAS THEN BOUGHT BY A GENTLEMAN WHO CLEANED IT UP, ADDED THE EDELBROCK INTAKE AND CARBERATOR, INSTALLED NEW CARPETS AND THEN GOT BIT BY THE DEUCE BUG AND ONLY GENERAL UPKEEP HAS BEEN DONE TO IT SINCE THAT STUFF HAS BEEN DONE. IT WAS THEN SOLD TO THE MAN IN CANADA WHERE THE CAR WAS KEPT IN A COOLED AND HEATED GARAGE. WHAT HE SAID HE DID TO THE CAR- WAS JUST WAXED AND BUFFED IT OUT-THE PAINT IS GEORGOUS ON IT! ORIGINALLY THE CAR WAS LOWERED BY HEATING THE SPRINGS. HE INSTALLED 3 INCH LOWERING COILS IN THE FRONT AND IT RETAINED THE LOWERING BLOCKS IN THE REAR. IT HAS BRAND NEW SMOOTHYS AND RIDES ON 3 1/4 INCH WIDE WHITE WALL DIAMOND BACK RADIALS. IT RIDES SUPER SMOOTH DOWN THE ROAD. IM NOT SURE WHAT THE GEAR IS, BUT IT USES VERY LITTLE GAS. FOR THE 2 MONTHS WE HAVE HAD IT- WE HAVE PUT OVER 1500+ TROUBLE FREE MILES ON IT! I'VE BEEN ON ONE TRIP THAT WAS 300 MILES EACH WAY WITHOUT A HICCUP. THE REMOTES THAT OPEN THE DOORS AND THE TRUNK- THERE ARE ALSO THREE BUTTONS UNDER THE DASH THAT OPEN THE DOORS SINGLY AS WELL AS THE TRUNK. On Dec-09-10 at 18:18:06 PST, seller added the following information: I forgot to list the transmission- is a C6. The car has new shocks on the rear. I took lots of pictures of the underneath so you can see how rock solid this car is. Even look at where the spare tire goes there is no rust! This car is just awesome! The last picture of the bottom roll pan is just dirty-no rust. I didnt have anything to clean it off with on the lift at the exhaust shop. Some friends were kind enough to let me use the lift they had so you could see how good the underside of the car looks. Also in the pictures you can see all the e brake lines are there. inside of the trunk-its rust free just a little dirty .
