Vehicle Detail

I've been building this car for about four years now.? We just moved and I don’t have the garage space I used to. Drivetrain: I've installed an LT1 and ZF S6-40(6 speed) from a '93 corvette.? The engine is stock except for a comp cam 503 cam, matching valve train upgrades, headers, and a PCMFORLESS tune.??As for the trany, I've replaced the clutch, clutch master cylinder, slave cylinder, and installed a hurst short shifter. ?The engine had 46k when removed from '93 and I've put about 10k on it since it’s been in the '80. Everything, drive train wise works together great!!? The 6 speed had too much gear with the stock rear gear ratio of the '80 so it's been rebuilt with 3.73's.? Since?I've been driving it, I've also replaced the opti.?All of the suspension has been gone through, replacing anything with any wear.? All brake parts from rotors to calipers to master cylinder are new.? Wheels are Foose Nitrous 18x8.5 and really compliment to the original body lines of the C3 vettes.? Car has been lowered as well, 2.5 or so in the front, 4 in the back.? The car is very low!!? The car is a dream to drive down the highway.? I've averaged 26 mpg highway miles driving back and forth to work.? Runs at 2k rpm at 75mph.? I've installed the muffler from an '01 Z06 on the passenger side but haven't gotten around to doing the driver side. I also installed an electric cutout on the driver side. Driver side muffler and electric cutout come with car. Body:?I blended the bumpers into the body and removed all marker lights.??It was painted with the best of the best paints and had a show finish on?it before I began driving it.? It's impossible to keep a finish like that on a driver and I built this car to DRIVE!!!? I've since added an L88 hood, made a mold of it, and am about to respray it. The car has a lot of new interior parts: seats, carpet, dash cover, steering wheel, etc. It’s almost all there but has not been completely finished. The bad: When I finally got the car drivable, I pretty much put off anything that wasn’t already done and took off. I was ready to ride!! So, there are still quite a few things that need attention. Headlight switch wasn’t working so I wired in a toggle switch. I rarely drove it at night so this wasn’t a big deal. If I did need them I could raise them manually by hand and turn them on with the toggle. All the vacuum canisters are still there, just not hooked up to the switch. You also have to pull the windows out to pull the mirrors off to paint the doors. Since they were out, I bought a new motor and gear but never got around to putting the passenger window all back together (do have new motor and gear). Driver side is in and goes up and down, but needs some adjusting. The 6 speed shift pattern was too wide for the original console so I tried to make a custom one. It actually came out descent but I never installed window switches or heat controls. Honestly I would probably get an original and modify it rather than waste any more time trying to finish the custom one (it’ll go with the car none the less). Hood release cable also needs replacing, I ordered one but they sent the handle and not the cable. I also never hooked up the speedo (just used my GPS). Tach and other cluster gauges work but cluster surround was also in process of being moded so you’ll either want to build something custom or replace surround (no radio). Most of the weather strip could stand to be replaced (some is missing). Tires also need replacing, and I’m not sure if the wipers work (never tried them). Hopefully I covered everything, but if I missed anything, it’s nothing a shade tree can’t handle. Despite not being finished, mechanically I would not hesitate to drive this car across country as it is(except tires). I built it to be a good driving, touring, car and that’s what I got. If you can handle a couple little projects this car would be a dream. I’ve done ALL the hard work, just finish her up.
