Vehicle Detail
Check this out// I will start with a few important comments and details. Pretty rare color by original color combo and options but you can do your own thing.. AND please read because there is PLENTY not pictured (we just had a severe storm here in North Jersey) that goes with the car. I just sold a 1971 Mach (a week ago) (you can still find it on ebay) and will sell this one now for one reason and one reason only. I need the $$ and otherwise will say I wont be able to fix this one for awhile otherwise. But as they say, dont cry for me because the $$ is going to finish a 1967 Shelby and I have another 1971 Mach one. What comes with the car but is not pictured. 1) original set of matched good condition wheel covers. 2) Interior is complete./I dont have photos but I have the seats (a saddle (palomino) and black one for the front and a black matched seat for the rear. 3) you will see in the pictures that the Drivers side rear interior panel is not there nore the interior corner panels of the fastback trim. I have them. SO I would say the interior is 90% at least.. 4) I have and excellent condition used front windshield and trim/the one that was in place was fine but popped out while it was being towed (back when...) 5) I have an excellent pair of front fenders. hood, new front lower valence and a complete used upper valence and complete grille surround to include the headlight buckets, extensions or "doors, Union piece for the buckets, and trim., rear valence and a pretty good rear bumper with brkts. More on the project, I began this project as a father son deal but for now.. my son willl have to wait. Ever hear of the horror stories of the people who buy these cars and then find all hidden rot./pay particular attention to the trunk. a common problem on these cars. I have no complaints at all because I knew what I was buying and I hope this translates to the next guy because I had the complete rear frame rails and trunk floors/surround replaced. Well that job was done just about perfectly by a professional Mustang restorer but you know what...the cost of that job was $2459. You know how these adds always say parts are cheap. well of the 2459 in costs only 184 was parts. Do the math...LOL. So if anyone wants to know how much I have into the car plus buying it/its about $5100 plus.. Now the car still needs attention and it is open and obvious...(Again). Cowel replacement, full floor replacement/I would go with the 2 full length pans versus the one piece system/its not necessary, more labor and just a waste unless the plan is for some show car, a battery apron, tail panel and DS quarter panel./the passenger side quarter is completely salvageable. Doors will repair but at $250 per for new repo door sheels it is a tough idea to turn down. The front rails and towers are fine but the front shock towers were hammered on some but I would leave as is and build a triver./again not worth the time of the replacements. NOTE THAT ALL FASTBACK UNIQUE STUFF IS PRETTY MUCH THERE, THE REAR TRAP DOOR WITHOUT HOLES, THE FOLD DOWN, TRIM, SEAT, the fastback door glass, and rear window in great shape and again I have the windshield.. The original 289 was replaced in lieu of a 351 cleveland but I dont think it is in any way any good/the hood was left off and the engine was "open". The car has the original trans (C4) and original V8 8 inch rear. I did get the complete original long block 289 that could or would go to the buyer if he/she so desires. VIN, please note that I have left off the last digit... for purposes of security. TITLE. this car comes with a clear, bonifide accurate Connecticut Certificate of Ownership. (we are not talking me giving you a piece of paper and calling it a Bill of Sale. I think I have said alot but maybe there is more. So feel free to ask me any questions. For now I have to repeat the color combo and options that I thought were going to be so neat. X code Vintage Burgundy exterior with full white interior with black accents/dash and carpet (car still has original door and all tag information is there).. power steering (all underside components still there and Power drum brakes. This was a luxury model if you will but below the Pony interior packeages that were offered. This is a car that has a good head start. If you do your own welding I am sure it can be completed economically, if you pay someone (Like I do) it will need thousands still but probably will still be way way way below the high end $40k and $50k cars I see advertised on ebay (at this very minute)... Any questions, I welcome your call at 201-961-3433 On Dec-31-10 at 10:39:28 PST, seller added the following information: well someone wrote.. Thanks for your response. I got to thinking about the vin after I sent the question. Should it be 5T09 instead of 5F09. If it's 5T09 then the consecutive number works. Typo on your part? You are on the east coast and the T was for Metuchen built mustangs which you probably already know. Thanks. and they are correct, the second digit (which represents where the assembly plant is/was ) is a T and therefore No real differenece but to say the car was built at the Metuchen plant versus the Dearborrn plant. I thank the person for the clarificatin.
