Vehicle Detail

**Will pull the motor and transmission if I have cash in hand if thats what you're looking for only, otherwise the whole car is for sale starting at $1,625.** I have for sale a 1969 Ford Thunderbird equipped with a 429 V8 engine with only 98,691 original miles on the car, 691 being put on the car since 1985. The previous owner I bought it from had the title from 1985 as well as the license plate was and is still attached to the back of the car from '85 as well. I had to turn the title in to get it in my name and it is a clear title in my hand. The motor is very clean and has all of its original parts on it, including the air conditioning unit as well. I drove the car when purchased to get it inspected and everything was tight and felt really good, especially for not being driven for 35 years. The only issue with the motor is that it puffs a little smoke out of the tailpipes and it seems to be clearing up from when I first bought the car and have been starting it up every now and then. I replaced the spark plugs, oil and filter, and transmission fluid. After running both fluids through the motor numerous times and blowing the motor out a bit, the smoke cleared up a lot and the transmission fluid is bright red, oil also looks amazing from being ran through the motor. Other then that the motor starts right up everytime and runs very strong along with the transmission shifting through gears, both are excellent...runs and drives just fine. As for the interior, it is in excellent shape as you can see in the pictures. The middle console piece is the only piece that really stands out from the rest, just looks a little sun faded. The dash has a small crack and seat has a small rip, but nothing noticeable and doesn't take away from the condition of this interior. The car is also equipped with power locks and windows and seats, but the windows do not work in it, locks go up and down with the button just fine and seats go front to back just fine as well. Also, the glove box consists of a button for trunk release, which works off of vacuum. This is the only way to open the trunk because the trunk is missing the key lock, which aren't really hard to find. As far as everything in working order, the horn, sequential blinkers (both outside and dash light blinkers), speedo, oil pressure reading, fuel gauge, climate control (a/c and heat) knob settings, ALL lights on the exterior and lights knob in interior, and lastly the dash lights at night and dome light all are in working order. Im not 100 % sure on the fuel gauge, as I haven't had enough gas in it yet to tell, but the owner before me put a new gas tank in it as well. The only thing non-working is the power windows and the clock in the interior to my knowledge. The vacuum headlight doors aka hideaway headlights, start in the up position, but upon starting the vehicle they close, unless you pull the headlight knob, then they open back up. After turning the key off, the headlights raise back up though, not sure if its opposite of what it should be or if thats the correct way they are. As for the body, the hood has a few little spots of chipped paint, but looks great otherwise and also raises up and down on its own very well. The front fenders are in really good shape. I would say the areas on the body mostly needing work would be the quarter panels. Both wheel well lips are solid and feel ok, but there is some chipping and light bubbling in the paint. There are chips all around the tires where it looks like its trying to rust, so they may need addressed. The trunk has a little rust spot right by the chrome where it rusted through about the size of half a pea, really small hole. All the chrome on the body and windows looks to be in pretty good shape as well. There are some scratches on the chrome by the door where the door opens though. The front chrome bumper is in excellent shape, back bumper has a little rust spot and a small ding as you can see in the pictures. Overall this is a very good start of a restoration for someone who wants a Thunderbird. These cars are very nice and you can't find many of them on the highway anymore in this good of shape. I'm just trying to be an honest person and pass this car on to someone who can fix it up and make it look brand new again. My money situation isn't very great right now and I just need to get rid of it, so I'm starting it out as low as I can go on the car, being in the shape its in. I hope I mentioned everything about the car, if you have any questions feel free to email me. **If you check my feedback I have also sold a Ford Maverick before as well awhile ago and everything went very smooth, so I have done this before and had no problems, you can trust things will go smoothly. Vehicle is being sold As-Is and Buyer is responsible for vehicle shipping or pick-up also.** On Dec-30-10 at 18:49:01 PST, seller added the following information: **If you have ZERO feedback, do NOT bid please and thank you, I will cancel all bids placed by someone with Zero feedback.**
