Vehicle Detail

Up for auction, my 1963 Studebaker Lark Daytona Wagonaire. Nicely preserved first year sliding roof wagon well equipt and outfitted with power brakes(drum), power steering, 259V8 engine, dual exhaust and automatic transmission. Other options include Daytona trim, two tone seats(split bench with recliners),AM radio, vanity glove box with pop up mirror, rear tailgate step up ladder, heater and factory Air Conditioning. I have owned this car for 16 years, and I have paperwork going back to the original owner, including orig Calif registration, emmision inspetion, and a letter from the selling dealer, Carmichael Motors to the owner. The Carmichael Motors licsence plate frame is still on the car! Nice color combination of rose mist exterior and interior with two tone seats and brown carpet. The car currently has 139,268 miles showing, when I purchased it 16 years ago , it had aprox 133,000 on it . I used the car as a back round (non descript) vehicle in a few movies such as Woody Allens Small Time Crooks, Batman Forever, Evening (Meryl Streep),and American Gangster. Also used it in a few magazine shoots, independent films, and even a few weddings, to drive the bride and groom around as they stood in the back with the roof open . The car spent the last few years in my garage under a cover while I pursued other projects. I took it out a few months ago to freshen it up. I rebuilt two of the wheel cylinders, and replaced the other two, also changed the rear brake hose and installed a new master cylinder and brake light switch at the same time. Also installed a new fuel pump and filter. The car was probably painted about 20 years ago, it it has some scratches, chips, nicks etc from being a driver, not a show car. Body is very solid, floors are super solid(heavily undercoated from day one), and chrome is original and nice driver quality. All glass is good, and windows(including tailgate) roll up and down as they should. I replaced the transmission about five years ago with a good used one from a friend who was hot rodding his Studebaker, and have had no problems with it since then. Engine runs excellent, has great oil pressure, does not run hot, no smoke, no noises. Interior is very nice, all gauges work, however, I noticed the last time I took the car out to work on it the speedo stopped working, so the car probably has about three more miles on it than it says.Horn works ,all lights work, wipers work, heater works, turn signals work, although switch is weak. I will include a new turn signal switch with the car. What it needs: clock doesnt work, never looked into it, radio doesnt work , never looked into it either.AC blows out warm, never looked into that either, since I drive my Lark convertible in the summer. One section of the headliner is missing(there are three sections), the headliner material looks like the same that was used by AMC in the sixties. Sun visors need replacement. Control arm bushings are old and should be replaced. What it is: a nice unrestored "survivor" with a solid body, great interior, and strong drivetrain in a rare color with nice options. Being a 47 year old car, there is no warantee.I will also include in the sale a NOS cargo area cover still in the Studebaker box. Any questions, fell free to call me at 516 795 7027 after 4pm est. A $500 paypal deposit is required.Car is also for sale locally, and I reserve the right to end the auction early Thank you and happy holidays On Dec-24-10 at 04:53:32 PST, seller added the following information: Looked through my spare parts supply yesterday and I will include the following items with the sale of the car. Extra gauge cluster(gas, oil, temp amps), correct radio and faceplate(condition unknown) left and right side tail light lenes, 1963 Studebaker sales brochure, tailgate window crank in very nice condition, assorted dashboard switches, and a used but complete factory roof rack--a pretty rare accessory which mounts on the foward section of the roof, since the rear section moves. Thanks and happy holidays, Dave
