1966 Ford Mustang 5-Speed!!! Here is an absolutely beautiful 1966 Ford Mustang with LOTS of unique options!!!! This gorgeous Mustang features a modern 5-Speed transmission, dual circuit 4-Wheel DISC brakes, 15 inch torq thrust wheels shod with brand new BFG tires, 4 barrel carb, a recent paint job, beautiful interior and that great GT look!!!. This Mustang also has upgrades in the handling department consisting of a slightly lowered stance and a larger front sway bar. The car is painted in the gorgeous factory Ford shade of red "Candy Apple Red" over a black interior featuring pony seats. The 289ci V-8 has been rebuilt within the last 1000 miles and features an Edelbrock intake, Edelbrock 4-barrel carb and a mild performance cam shaft. This is 100% rust free Mustang that has spent much of its life if not all of its in the dry desert southwest. This car has plenty of power, with modern brakes and that great classic pony car look!!! This is a great collectible classic that is surely to appreciate in value over the next several years!!! Click to enlarge Exterior: This Mustang looks great finished in a factory correct shade of red, Candy Apple Red complete with white accent stripe and all appropriate GT decor. The car was recently painted and it looks great!!! There are a few minor imperfections but overall it looks great as you can see from the photos. The paint has a very "deep" look and has a great shine since it was a Basecoat/Clear coat paint job. When the car was painted, it was done properly. The car was dismantled and painted... not a simple "tape and shoot" kind of paint job. The windshield was removed and a new windshield was put in. All of the rubber seals are brand new and fresh.. The undercarriage of this car is nice and clean it appears to have its original floor pans. I really love the way the white letter tires, white stripe and contrasting chrome look with the beautiful paint. The exterior is really set off by the GT look with functioning grill lights and great looking "trumpet" exhaust exiting through the rear valance. This is a car that you could bring to a local car show and show it with pride, or you could go on great long weekend drives in. Overall the exterior is in great shape. Click to enlarge Interior: The classic black interior of this mustang is new and in excellent condition. The front and rear seats are "Pony" seats and in excellent shape. They are free of stains and tears. The carpet is new as well and free of stains etc... The headliner and door panels are also new and finish the car beautifully. The dash pad was also replaced and is in perfect condition. The cars radio is modern unit with a 6 disc changer in the glove box, it is currently not hooked up but should be a very simple fix. The car does feature speakers in the kick panels. and should make getting the radio up and running again very easy and straight forward. Overall the interior of this car is beautiful and is a great place to waste the weekend away. Click to enlarge Engine: The 289ci V8 fires right up and runs like a top. The car blows no smoke on start up or while driving. The engine was rebuilt within the last 1000 miles and features a host of Edelbrock performance upgrades. The car was treated to an Edelbrock 4 barrel carb, performance intake manifold as well as a mild camshaft for increased performance and an MSD coil to top it all off. The engine has been treated to a set of the classic Cobra valve covers and "Hi-Po" air cleaner that finishes the engine bay nicely. The 5-Speed transmission is a high dollar conversion that makes all the difference if you intend on driving your classic car. It makes the car much more economical because the car gets better gas mileage as well as adds quite a bit of comfort due to less RPM at highway speeds. The transmission shift beautifully with the addition of a "Pro 5.0" shifter that makes the shift pattern clear cut and defined. There is NO guesswork with this shifter, the shift action is very precise. The rear end has been upgraded with a set of 3:55 gears which adds greatly to this ponys acceleration. Also, a fantastic upgrade is the dual circuit 4 wheel disc brakes. The addition of disc brakes makes the car much more enjoyable to drive and drives like a much more modern vehicle as well. Best of all there is no side to side pull while under braking since the car doesnt have drum brakes. The engine sounds great with its dual exhaust finished with the classic "trumpeted" exhaust tips that come in the GT package. The car runs nice and cool even in Arizonas hot and dry climate. The heater is currently not hooked up as they are not really needed in AZ. This should be a very easy job to fix. The car has also been treated to a brand NEW set of BFG White Letter tires which give the car plenty of modern traction while retaining that classic muscle car look. The steering can often be a low point on a classic Mustang, but this car with the added larger sway bar and lower suspension really handles great!!! Its much better than your typical "Muscle Car." With all of the subtle upgrades and modern brakes this car really is a blast to drive!!! All of the upgrades compliment each other and none of it takes away from the classic appeal of the car. I havent had so much fun and pleasure driving a classic car in a long time. This really is a great car to spend time in!
