Vehicle Detail
Up for bid is a rare find. A 1973 Corvette factory 4 speed with just 42,601 original miles. This car has been in storage for years and has been unused most of the last 38 years. It still sports the original #945 Blue-Green paint that it left the St Louis Corvette factory with nearly 38 years ago. This car has been in a time warp. It is all original and has been said many times "they are only original once". This California native is a factory 4 speed car and a very collectable classic. The 1973 Stingray was the last year the rear chrome bumpers for the classic Marko shark styling which begain in 1968. Don't miss out on this opportunity to own an original unrestored 4 speed classic Vette with very low miles. This automobile is coming out of any estate and was the pride and joy of it's two previous owners. This rare classic was able to be tucked away for the future by its original owner who hardly ever drove the car. He was never able to enjoy it so when the second owner acquired the car it was also stored for another day that never came. He did replace the original intake manifold with a new Edelebrock Performer as well as a new carborator, distibutor, altenator, wires He also installed headers and dual flow masters as well as a new fuel tank and all new fuel lines. All the items that go bad with lack of use were replaced including all new axcell spark plug wires and all new rubber hoses. Sadly this person also never got to use the vehicle and has had the car parked most of the time. The car has always been a California car and has a clean California title. The car has not been registured for over 6 years so if you are a California buyer you will need to add aproximately $500 more to bring it up to date. If you are NOT A CALIFORNIA BUYER you will not be liable for any back fees. ONLY CALIFORNIA BUYERS who want to change ownership in CALIFORNIA. This is a rare classic Stingray that is being offered for a very low reserve price. The front chrome bumper was replaced with a federally mandated 5 MPH bumper. It added 35 pounds to the car and changed it's looks significantly. This is the only year that a rubber front bumper and chrome rear bumper were used at the same time. A new side brace was added as well to increase safety. This was also the last year for the small spoiler at the back of the car. During production of the 1973 model year 4,000 serial numbers were skipped. VIN numbers 24,001 through 28,000 were never manufactured. A new hood was introduced that featured cold air induction and removed the automatic panel that hid the windshield wipers. A vent in the hood by the windshield wipers provided cold outside air for the engine to injest. The new ducts on the sides behind the front wheels were non-trimmed and consist of just one large hole and some body styling. It was the first year for radial tires on a Vette. Increased sound insulation was added to make the ride more comfortable. A new coolant recycling system recovered overheated coolant into a overflow container for cooling. This coolant was then recycled back into the radiator. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION, PLEASE READ BEFORE BIDDING Please only bid if you intend to buy.
