I have for sale my 2001 Honda 400 XR. I bought this bike about a year ago because some of my friends ride and race and I thought I might go riding with them some. A year later I have ridden it twice for about 30 minutes each time and it has just been sitting there for the last 6 months so I decided to sell it. I bought the bike about a year ago from a guy who said he was the original owner, but I have no way to verify this. The bike is in good shape mechnically and I have not had any problems with it the couple of times I rode it. My friends that know a lot more about bike than I do says the bike is in great condition. The last time I rode it was at my friends farm in a muddy pasture and I washed off the excess mud at his house with a hose, but never really cleand it up so the pics show dirt, spider webs and all. I literally pulled it out of the garage took the pics and put it back up. The bike does have a few cosmetic issues (plastic srcatches, tank decals peeling, slight tear in the end of one hand grip cover, etc) but its a dirt bike right. This thing sits high and is a monster. I am 5' 10" and barely touch the ground when on it. It has a lot of power and will probably handle any trail you put in front of it. The tires were a little worn when I bought the bike and the guy told me they were the factory tires. My friend put a brand new set on there with new heavy duty tubes and they have about 30 minutes of ride time on them. I have this bike for sale locally also so I reserve the right to cancel the auction at any time if the bike sells locally. I think this would make a great bike for someone that will actually ride it, but I just don't have the time. This is LOCAL PICKUP ONLY FROM IN OR AROUND CHATTANOOGA, TN. Please serious bidders only. A down payment through paypal of $200 is required immediately upon the end of the auction. The remainder can be paid in CASH ONLY at pick-up. I was surprised it started up with 7 month old gas in it, but it did and ran great.
