For the first time Ford featured a hood that opened straight up to allow easier access to the engine; prior to that, Ford used an two-piece hood, hinged in the middle, folded side to side, limiting access to the engine. Headlights were inlayed within the front fenders. They incorporated a bustle-back trunk, with ample room for spare tire, tools, and any nessasary cargo. 1937 was the first year for cable brakes; previous Fords had used steel-rods. Cable brakes were felt to be a vast improvement. The '37 Ford was designed to look like a "baby Lincoln." The car was a selling sucess. This car came out of an estate of a Pennsylvania car collector; he had the care for 40+ years. It has been refinished in the orginal black laquer, and has a delightful dusting of patina. The finish, the interior and the chrome shows very well. The interior and top were provided by LaBaron Bonney. This manufacture is noted accuracy in material and style. The engine strats right up, with no issues, runs well, and pulls the car along at normal speeds. All lights and gauges work. The cable brakes provide a smooth straight stop.
