2001 Mercedes ML55 AMG is tuned by the Mercedes-owned performance subsidiary AMG, the ML55 houses one of the most potent power plants ever to see SUV duty. The hand-built V-8 makes 342 horsepower and 376 lb-ft of torque. But, in addition, and what’s really important to safety and performance, is its sophisticated permanent all-wheel-system, which ensures plenty of grip, routing power away from the wheels that may have less traction – even if that means sending all the available torque to just one wheel. It has been a great car, but with 4 year old twins and a growing family we need a little bit more room and less power. The vehicle has about 132,000 mile on it and was purchased by us in Florida about 3 years ago. I have had it recently maintained at the local Mercedes dealership and everything checked out great. I had the pads and rotors replaced and the ty-rods are new. The car handles and rides with a Mercedes feel but with the power of a sports car. There is a small spot in the rear deck lid that there on purchase. (seen in pic) and a small spot in the rear carpet, again was there when the car was purchased. We have the back sealed with the plastic the dealers put down in new cars to protect the carpets. Maintained on a regular basis and a really great car that I hate to see go, but tough economy and growing family take priority. Thank for your interest and good luck!
