Vehicle Detail

Take a look at this beautiful 1941 Willys MB Slat Grill. I rescued this jeep from a farm in Upstate New York in 2008. The jeep was in real bad shape and the frame was beyond repair. The running gear was in decent shape but the engine was missing. Over the past two years I located a refurbished frame and found a professionally rebuilt period correct early Willys MB engine and completed a frame off restoration. The original frame tag is barely legible and I believe the serial number is 101005. The front axle has a date stamp of 11-9-41. That makes this a very early production Slat Grill made near the start of production in the fall of 1941. This jeep was made before the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor. Everything has been gone through on this jeep and everything has been cleaned, repainted, or replaced with new, NOS, or repro parts. I have owned/restored over 20 other MB's, GPW's and CJ's and sold several successfully on e-Bay. Chassis and Drive Train: Original leaf springs front and rear, new/rebuilt shackles, new shocks, new axle bumpers, new frame with correct battery tray, new u-joints, new clutch and bearing, new seals, bearings and small parts kit on T-84 tranny and T-18 transfer case which were drained and cleaned and repainted, any worn or broken parts replaced, and all fluids and gaskets replaced, late style internal expanding e-brake with new hardware and pads, new e-brake cable, new engine/tranny mounts, new brakes including all lines and hoses, new master cylinder, four new wheel cylinders. Rebuilt steering box and drag link and steering wheel, tranny and transfer case real strong and work properly. Authentic Willys pintle hook. 5 new STA 6x16 NDT tires and tubes on blasted and painted 16" non-combat non-solid disc original Willys rims. Engine: Correct engine for early Slat Grill, it was professionally rebuilt by Dave Morganthall, rebuit WO Carter Carb, new fuel pump, cleaned/machined manifolds and new gaskets, new 12 volt alternator, new wiring, new Spartan repro. horn, new battery, new hoses, new belts, new 180 degree t-stat, new temp. gauge, new ammeter, new fuel gauge and sender, new fuel lines, original re-conditioned Autolite distributor with brown cap and rotor, new plugs and wires. Radiator cleaned, repaired, painted and a new cap. The jeep was converted to 12 volt for modern convenience, the original type voltage regulator is an empty shell for looks only. Body: Bensinger MB Slat Grill body kit; new tub very correct including square edge gas tank reservoir, early low windshield including new glass, new fenders, slat grill with radiator wind deflectors, hood, correct rubber windshield blocks and correct rubber shifter boots, new seats, new correct small mouth new fuel tank, new top bows, brackets and hardware, new canvas (All canvas is Beachwood canvas), repro. shovel and axe. Rebuilt authentic blackout lights, new headlights and tail-lights, correct brass repro data plates(unstamped). Misc: All new electric (wired for 2010 not 1941 meaning no convoluted light switch that prevents head lights and blackout lights from being on at same time - modern safe fused two pull switch with correct knob.), all new gauges (except speedometer - original CJ speedo that works fine), all lights, all new switches work properly. Vehicle includes correct 1” Hemp tow rope properly looped on each end and pioneer tools. Mileage on odometer is not accurate, but regardless of odometer reading this Jeep is better than motor pool, almost like it just came off the assembly line. The only thing left to do with this vehicle is have fun driving it, show it off at parades and shows, and possibly outfit it with some WWII paraphernalia. Vehicle has no title and will be sold with bill of sale only. Vehicle is sold as is where is. Shipping costs are responsibility of buyer. Will work with buyer to arrange shipping (i.e drive it to local shipper or Port Newark.) No overseas shipping due to no title. Deposit via Paypal, balance in cash or Paypal upon pick up or prior to shipping. No checks, no trades, no scams. The "Buy It Now" price is a realistic price, the reserve price is very close to that. This Jeep will sell as have all my previous restorations, don't let it slip away. Look at some of the other auctions for this type of vehicle for reference pricing.
