This very elegant convertible has just undergone a complete restoration. All of the sheet metal that was not perfect was replaced with new, i.e. Firewall,complete front frame and sheet metal,fenders,doors,quarters,one piece floor,frame rails,rockers...all new with no rust! The paint is PPG gold with three coats of clear wet sanded and buffed to a brilliant shine.I kept the standard interior in it, that it came with,and completly redid the interior with Parchment that I think looks gorgeous with the gold paint.Door handles to mirrors to sill plates you name it and its new.She also has a new front windshield and a wood Grant steering wheel.I did take a little creative license and change the dash to a 66 style along with the seats and a three speed blower motor instead of a two speed.The top is also new along with the plastic window.It is a stayfast top made out of cloth like the newer cars and is really nice.Very black and doesnt show wrinkles as bad from being down,also better in cooler climates.This car still retains its factory drivetrain,a 289 4bbl 4 speed car.The motor has been completly gone through.New pistons,rings,bearings,camshaft,oil pump,distributor,and more.The engine is also bored.030 over.Original Autolite 4100 carb rebuilt,new starter alternator,all tune up pieces,fuel pump on and on.The nice shifting TopLoader trans was gone through with new blocker rings,bearings,seals and so on,the gears were in great shape.All new clutch pack,complete brake system,new chrome bumpers ,mirrors,door handles,rocker moldings,tail lights,back up lights..... The wheels are USA made 65 steel wheels and the chrome is very nice with new center caps and tires.It has had a four wheel alignment.All the weather strips and seals have been replaced along with window fuzzies.New gas tank and sending unit.I have included some pics during its restoration to see just how far it went.Also complete new suspension including front and rear springs along with shocks, and, I added the 65 GT fog light kit with wiring harness and switch as I think they make the front of the car.As a note since I changed all the front sheet metal the vin numbers are from a 6 cyl car.It still wears its correct door vin tag. Also wanted to add the heads were gone through.New valves,springs,guides, and hardened valve seats so its all ready for unleaded gasoline.Thanks If you have any questions feel free to ask.She's a beautiful car and needs a good home.
