Vehicle Detail

This is a naturally aspirated 1985 MR2 in great condition. I have owned this car for less than a year and have driven this car only about 2500 miles. It runs great with no mechanical issues and has the original paint. The person I bought it from was an older, non-smoking gentleman who bought this car new and garaged it the whole time he owned it. It has been a southern California car it's whole life, has never been in any accidents or in a body shop, has never been raced or on a track, and has both an excellent exterior and interior. I am looking to sell it because I will be leaving for military active duty in a few months and can only afford to bring my daily driver with me. This car has a manual sunroof and includes the shade cover. It also comes with the original factory cover and car bra. It also has power windows and an aftermarket CD player. The A/C has been converted to R-134a by the original owner and works great. Complete maintenance records are available. The timing belt along with the tensioner was replaced at 150,000 miles. In addition, the head gasket, which is notorious for being a problem on the MR2, was repaired at 160,000 miles. The fifth gear problem that plagues a lot of first generation MR2s was also repaired. Here are some problem areas I can think of. The speakers sometimes get distorted, especially when playing a higher volumes. Also, there are some tears in the leather for the shifter, which can be seen in one of the pictures. The right, rear wheel housing also has some exposed glue. This can be seen in the pictures, too. In January, when I bought the car, I decided to replace the tires. The tires I replaced it with are Bridgestone Potenza RE960AS Pole Position 195/60R-14. They are classified as Ultra High Performance All Season Tires and handle great. Since I have only driven them about 2500 miles, they have plenty of tread life left. Extras include the factory car cover, bra, MR2 repair manuals (including the rare official one), front brake pad replacements (Bendix part #D242), original spare tire, extra serpentine belt, and stock air filter (I put a K&N filter in it). Also, I will keep the shift knob in the pics but I will replace it with the stock shift knob. As you can see in the pictures, the actual mileage is lower than the mileage in the ad description. I will continue to drive this car until it sells, but I will not go higher than 166,200 miles. Thanks for looking! Feel free to email me with any questions.
